I smirked as I slammed on the breaks and almost sent Lynn’s stuff flying out of the car window. (If they actually did I would probably be killed) She lifted a shaky hand and thrusted the car door open and kneeled down on the sidewalk. “LAND! SWEET LAND!” I laughed as she continued to worship the solid ground. I helped her up. “C’mon. I’ll show you inside.” I walked up the steps and took out the keys and opened the door. Mark was standing in front of it. He looked worried. “HOLY s**t!” He yelled. He passed me and Lynn and walked to his car and stared to expect it. “Are you okay baby? It’s okay, Daddy’s here…” Mark cooed as he petted the red paint. Well it was his first ever Corvette and it was his “baby”. I call it when I can finally drive. He saw the small little scratches on the side and I swear his eyes looked like they were going to fall out and I could swear again his vain was about to pop. “WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY BABY?! SHE’S SCRATCHED!” Lynn looked up at me. “Will he be okay?” I sighed. “Yeah, just give him an hour or so he’ll calm down…I hope…” Mark ran into the garage and got out his tools and polisher. “Everything’s gonna be okay baby. Let me just fix you up a bit okay?” Mark muttered. I grabbed Lynn’s hand. “C’mon, let’s go inside.” I pulled her into my house and asked her where she would want her stuff. “I don’t care…” “’Kay…” I placed them down near the foot of the kitchen doorway. She looked around the living room. She stopped at an old family portrait. Mom was smiling and had me sitting on her lap. I was about eight at the time. Mark was standing in the middle and Dad was off to the side grinning like he always did…and then there was… “Was this you when you were younger?” She giggled. My cheeks turned pink. “Y-Yeah…I look so weird in that picture.” Lynn shook her head back and forth. “No! It’s cute! You’re really cute when you were younger Arron!” She gasped and covered her mouth. I saw her cheeks turn from pale white to a rosy pink, to a red color. I felt my face do the same thing. I looked at the floor. What was I supposed to say? I like you a lot and I want you to go out with me? NO! That would make it even more awkward. So I kept my mouth shut. It was quiet for some time until Mark came back in and grabbed my collar on my shirt. “You.Owe.Me.” He said as he gritted his teeth. “I know I know don’t get your boxers in a bunch.” I said coolly as I pushed him off me. He looked over at Lynn’s clothes and looked back at me in confusion. “What’s with the stuff? Just because we picked you up in the woods doesn’t mean you can’t go kidnapping virgins late at night.” I blushed and the thought of Lynn that way… “M-MARK! I DIDN’T KIDNAPP HER!” I protested while I was trying hard not to blush. Mark smirked. I grabbed him and dragged him into the kitchen. Lynn was looking out the window in her own world. I looked back and Mark was laughing quietly. I smacked him in the arm. “SHUT UP!” I hissed. He wiped his eyes. “Sorry…it’s so-o cute-e to see you blush!” He said as he batted his eyelashes and started to pinch my cheeks. I pushed him off. “I’m serious! She needs to stay here.” “Why? No other relatives?” I looked down at the floor. “Yeah…her dad was all she had…her dad…was murdered…I think it was the slayer that killed him…” Mark looked serious. “You think?” “Well…the body looked like a trap.” “Trap?” I rubbed my arms. “The body was hanging from the ceiling and it was cut open. There was blood every where. Mark, I was ready to go ape in that room.” Mark, still serious as ever, nodded and looked out the window. “…Does she know about us yet?” “No…I never told her…” Mark sighed and looked back. “Arron, she can’t live her unless she knows what we are.” I sighed. “I know…which is why…I’m going to tell her tonight…” I walked out of the kitchen and grabbed her hand. She looked over at me and smiled. “What is it Arron?” “I have to tell you something, no matter how ridiculously stupid or unbelievable it is would you still like me for who I am?” She looked scared and confused. “Yes of course.” My grip on her tightened. “You promise?” “I promise.”
