From Buy Moron to Browncoat, I have my fingers in many pies of fandom. I rant, I rave, I flail, I squee, I fall in love with minor characters. I'm just an unemployed fandom fangirl who needs to get her thoughts out somewhere!

And across the world, scores of nerds came in their pants and it was good...

Once in a while, a photo will hit the internet and folk like myself will spontaneously combust at the level of awesome packed into one frame. The photo above is an example of that.

From left to right, we have Adam Baldwin (Casey in Chuck, Jayne in Firefly/Serenity), Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah in Chuck), Nathan Fillion (Castle in, erm, Castle, Mal in Firefly/Serenity) and Zachary Levi (Chuck in, well, Chuck). That's pretty much an orgy of awesome.

My Twitter feed/LJ flist has gone bonkers over this picture, squeeing, speculating and generally fantasizing about the prospect of Nathan Fillion appearing in Chuck. Of course our dreams were dashed when it turned out he was just visiting his friend, Adam Baldwin, on the set but it set me thinking - not for the first time - who I'd like to see guest star in my beloved shows.

Now, I have a number of these, so this will likely be a semi-regular feature here on my blog. But for now, I present to you, part one of:

AWB's Cracked Out Casting Couch!

Nathan Fillion in Chuck
Role: An old friend/partner of Casey's.
Explain, O' Great One: Nathan Fillion is awesome. Dispute that and I'm pretty sure you're breaking the law in a number of countries. And unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last six or so years, I'm sure you're aware that he and Adam Baldwin starred together in Joss Whedon's finest work, the short lived sci-fi western series, Firefly. Captain Mal and Jayne had some of the best back and forths of anyone on the entire show. If we bring that chemistry back down to Earth, to the mundane setting of the BuyMore, we could, once again, have such a brilliant comedic pairing. You can already see the younger, cockier agent really rubbing Casey up the wrong way, yet at the same time, being one of the only real friends he has. It'd be a great way to give us some backstory on Casey, who is still a very mysterious character to say he's one of the three leads. Throw in some little in-jokes for the Browncoats, grenades, maybe a sneaky "I'll be in my bunk" from Nathan and you've got a great little stand alone ep. But make sure you keep him alive, it's always nice to have the possibility of him popping up again.

Misha Collins in Chuck
Role: Russian spy, starts out as a friend, goes all evil and rargh.
Explain, O' Great One: Like Nathan Fillion, Misha Collins is awesome. Misha Collins is one of the most underrated actors in any TV show and could quite easily fit in anywhere. He can go from very funny to incredibly menacing in a hot minute and would fit perfectly with the Chuck cast. I'd like to see him as part of a multi-episode arc. Bring him in as a patient-c**-friend of Devon's, someone that isn't close enough to Chuck to arouse suspicion and could get away with asking questions, simply seeming curious about his life. Let the fans be lulled into a false sense of security before revealing at the end of an ep that he is in fact an evil spy! Then leave him in the background for a while before having him come back and act out some evil plot. And why Russian? Why not?

Robert Downey, Jr in Supernatural
Role: John Winchester's long lost younger brother.
Explain, O' Great One: Okay, so this one's highly unlikely but bear with me. We already have the family resemblance. Can't you just see RDJ coming into the picture as a sarcastic, cocky younger brother? He could have enlisted in the Marines with John, been captured, perhaps falsely presumed dead which is why we've never heard about him before. Maybe John could have known he was alive but didn't want to introduce him to his sons because he's kind of a jerk or something along those lines. (Come on, Anna's grace was presumed to be a tree. Our fandom can suspend belief like no other). Can't you just see him being pulled into a fight he knew nothing of? The reluctant hero, another possible vessel for Lucifer (as John was Michael's alternate vessel)? If they wanted to be extremely nice to us, we could have some wonderful flashbacks featuring JDM and RDJ duking it out, some snarking, some fighting sans shirts. Really, I think he'd be right at home. I also completely picture him calling Bobby "Wheels".

These are just a few of my cracked out casting ideas. Any other ideas? I'd like to hear what you think, if you've got any better story ideas for the fantasy casts mentioned here and even who you'd like to see in your favourite shows.
