Bright purple skies and a smell of whithering flowers, all perfectly normal in a dying world. All that's left to "enjoy" it are two mischeiviouse teens, both of the same age eighteen. Kyle, a handsom young man with light brown hair and dark brown eyes, very smart and had an urge of importance about him. The blue sun was beggining to rise, encasing the young sleeping girl, Rachel, in a misty blue glow. He smiled down at her from a chair behind a bar counter. What two teens were doing at a bar? Well, that's the story isn't it?
You see, the world was meant to end in the year 2012 but God's plan didn't take action. Everyone cheered and was convinced that there was no God, but his plan had only just begun to make progress through the humans. The people celebrated, not knowing . . .

that scientists were brewing up the worlds destruction. It was supposed to help, a steam to be released into the air and dissolve the pollution. Deaths were increasing by millions at a time. People coughing up yellow blood, vomiting, and finally dying with a dissolved heart. People dying on the streets, cars, and many from airplane crashes due to a dead pilot. All the animals and plants had morphed. Animals became viciouse and plants restless. Kyle, being chased by a mutant dog with sunken green eyes and horns, was running down the streets avoiding flying metal and uncontroled speeding cars. A car was pulling out of a garage so Kyle, stole his way in before the door closed. The dog howled and scratched against the metal. Kyle ran into the house and slammed the door shut behind him.
"Don't let so much air in next time." A sudden voice behind him said, making him jump. He turned around and came face to face with Rachel. Her brown hair was uncombed and messy and the dark circles under her eyes made her brown eyes look dull. She shivered and pulled her Hatter Madigan blanket tighter around her. "But what does it matter? You're infected anyway. how much longer do you think you have?" She asked casually moving to the refridgerater.
"Plan to live long." Kyle answered honestly, although he doubted that would ever happen. Rachel pulled out a pitcher of lemonade and poured a glass.
"Come here, let's check you out." She said beckoning him with her hands. He came to her and she checked his eyes and pulse. She clucked her tongue and handed him the lemonade. "This should help. Glad you dropped by-" Rachel looked through a black wallet and pulled out an picture ID, "Kyle, you would've been gone by tonight."
"How did you get that?" Kyle asked looking at his wallet. He held his hand out and Rachel placed it in his grasp. Barking from the hallways drew both their attention. a small healthy puppy ran down and into Rachel's arms. Kyle backed up quickly, almost dropping his glass he asked, "How is that even possible!?"
"Lots of expirementing and time." She answered laughing and petting the pup. "My mix is in that lemonade actually. its kinda gross tasting but i'm sure its more preferable than death." She smiled and set her pet down. Rachel walked to the couch in the living room and arranged a small sleeping space. Kyle followed her and with her coaxing, he drank the lemonade. Erupting in a coughing fit he sat on the couch and Rachel brought him blankets.
"What's in this stuff?" He asked in between coughs. Rachel thought about ita second then smiled broadly and shushed him.
"It's better you didn't know." She said and ran to the refridgerater and looked inside. Slamming the door shut she leaned against the counter and sighed. Kyle calmed his coughing enough to speak, "What are you looking for?" he asked. Rachel just hung her head and sank to the floor. Kyle went and stood next to her. "You okay?"
"Out of coffee..." She replied flatly.
"You don't need coffee, you need sleep." He said. She shrugged and got up, pointing to the couch she told him to go lay down.
"If i'm correct, after tonight we will be the last ones left. The yellow is already going out of your eyes so you should be fine." She smiled and turned toward the stairs. "Come on Daisy!" She called the puppy.
"Are you a doctor?" He asked, Rachel laughed and turned back toward him.
"Nope, I'm a Rachel. Best kind out there." She winked teasingly and walked up the stairs to go back to studying the night away. Kyle watched her ascend the stairs and drifted into a sleep filled with little releif as he dreamt about the days to come.
