My dear friend Jai and I had a bit of a relationship a while ago. I care for him and love him dearly. He was saddened to hear I was getting married, but also happy for me. There was a time when I wanted things to work with Jai and I tried too hard. He tried too. It didn't happen, my heart wasn't in it. He said he "always knew where he was in the hierarchy", meaning that, he knew I was in love with Crispy. He gets it. He's backed off, but I welcome his friendship and companionship when he's ready to offer it once again. This is an example of when they do "get it".

Now I also know of a guy I broke up with like what? 3, almost 4 years ago now? I was subtly hinting that I wanted nothing more to do with him, at all. When that didn't work, I put him on ignore. Now, it doesn't happen often, but I've received emails I don't want from this person. Journal comments from this person. He's gone so far as to track me down on FaceBook and tried to friend me (which I ignored). I've told this person point blank, very simply, that what we had "was in the past, where it should be". I told him I felt like he was cyber-stalking me and told him to stop. I have not received anymore emails, but I have still be getting journal comments and private messages here on Gaia--AFTER I called him out and told him to leave me alone. This is an example of when they Don't "get it".

To the guy that DOESN'T get it: LEAVE ME ALONE! I do not want your well wishes. I do not want to "stay in touch". I do not want anything to do with you ever again. We are NOT friends. We never will be. I do not harbor any feelings toward you that would require your attentions. Do not contact me ever again. I would appreciate it greatly.
