Biohazard: The All or Nothin' Days

Part 1 of 4

2:50. Time is slowing down and my essay isn't completing itself. This is it, it's crunch time. The others were busy reading, studying ahead while I struggled to keep up. Mr. Anderson says that if I don't finish it this time, he's not giving me any more chances, and the fact that I had missed four classes in a row wasn't helping matters much. Leave it to sadistic madmen to interfere with my make-up periods. What are the chances of a bank robbery, a hostage situation, and two jail breaks all occuring back to back on adjacent days.

My thoughts are shattered by an explosion that rocks the school. Loud screams and shouts are heard from the hallway. My teacher leaps from his desk and grabs the wall phone, nervously punching in the digits for the office. I shake my head. They were early; leave it to thugs to be punctual.

"Alright, everyone on the ground!" A masked gunman shouts as he bursts his way into the classroom, an MP5 clutched in his grip.

"A little overkill for a high school, don't you think?" I say, quickly realising that I'm the only one still sitting at my desk.

Crap. I'm too confident, they're gunna know who I am. Stupid, Dwight, really stupid.

"I said get you're a** on the ground, punk!" The thug shouts, grinning as I comply. Moron.

And he shows his ugly head. Adder. And he brought two heavily armed friends; Magical. As soon as he strolled into the room, carrying that blasted snake, I knew this was big. He was wearing a black eye patch this time, I guess he couldnt find anything else that matched his outfit. Who wears white suits anymore?

Adder had the distinct misfortune of being one of the first recipients of an experimental universal anti-vemon, a serum that was suppose to act against every known snake poison. It was developed by a independant research company who's funding had been cut a few years prior. The serum cured Adder's poison, but it also changed something inside him, got his molecules all confused or something like that. His body started producing venom of it's own, complete with his own set of fangs. He's been insane ever since.

"Which one of you miserable maggots wants to be a hostage?" Adder spat, his freakish red eyes glowing with delight.

"This one, boss!" A thug said, proding Sarah with his boot. "She's purdy!"

I'm calling this guy Intelligence.

"She's like 15 you ******** *****" One of his slightly less dimwitted comrades retorted.

"Take her. I want her alive" Adder said with a sadistic laugh, starting toward the door.

"You won't lay a hand on her" I said, standing in the path of the armed gunman.

Idiot. You're not wearing a mask! You're not a hero, you're just a stupid kid.

"Brave kid." Adder said, turning around. "Light him up."

I closed my eyes and waited for gunshots. Instead, I was greeted by cold steel as the thug smashed me with the butt of his gun. The blow was like getting punched in the arm by your sweetheart, but I wasn't Biohazard in that classroom. I was weak, non-superhuman Dwight. I crumpled like a sheet of paper.

"You're goin' soft like a sissy boy, Angus!" Intelligence spouted with a moronic laugh.

"He's not worth the bullet, he's just a kid. Grab the girl and let's get out of here."

I could hear Sarah's screams as they grabbed her and carried her from the classroom. It took every fibre of my body to stay still, to play dead.

"Tell you're fearless hero, Biohazard, that if he doesn't come to the harbour at 11 tonight, the next time you see this girl will be at her funeral."

Adder's voice was like salt in my wounds. I'd be there, and he was going to need alot more than my best friend to stop me. I swear it.
