So here's another punchline, you sick bastards.

I have a mental disability, which puts me under your broad 'retarded' category.

I'm sixteen years old. I live in a normal house. I have a dog, I can type, I'm on the second Honors list at my school. I like to do web design, and every morning I take medication to help with my ADD, another condition that affects my ability to function in life.

I'm also physically disabled. On June 7, 2004, I underwent a spinal surgery that fused thirteen of my vertebrae into solid bone to correct my scoliosis. I will never be able to participate in contact sports again, and if I get in a car crash I risk being paralyzed permanently. My recovery took over a year, and in that time we discovered my auditory learning disability as well as my ADD.

Here's the best part: My mom didn't kill me, and my kids have a high chance of being disabled in the way I am as well.

I'm called a retard by people who are stupid, biased, and have no idea what I've been through. And they will never be able to know, because if you can't even bother to understand, you will never be able to struggle through it all.

Disability is not retardation.

Discrimination and senseless hatred is the true retardation; Of character.
