The sun was shining down at the Lake of Dreams.
The wind was whispering to the trees, bringing with him a warm summer flow.
The lake was situated in the middle of the Mysterious Forest.
The sun was at her summit, scorching the forestground.
Water glistened like crystals and if you look closely you could watch the dragon flies dancing their mating dance.
Stones from the bank traveled forward to the middle of the Lake where a Water Shrine stood.
Inside of it, in the shadows, was a girl.
The scene was a beautiful site, yet the girl did not notice.
Too occupied with something on her mind, she sat there on the steps of the shrine. Her feet dangled into the water, slowly moving around in tiny circles.
"I hate you."
"I do not blame you."

The young man stood still.
His feet were almost submerged into the water, yet he still remained upright on the stone that lead to the Shrine.
He stood still gazing with longing at the girl, and hating himself for it.
"I hate you."
Those three words startled him.
He kept still, making it appear as if there wasn't anyone else except the girl.
But he knew that she had sensed him from afar.
It would only be fit to respond.
"I do not blame you."
The girl laughed bitterly and raised her head to the sky above.
Her voice rang across the water, stopping just before reaching the bank.
"I must have done something bad in my past life, 'cause for the love of god I can't understand why the Spirits are tormenting me...."
Silence entered the area.
After awhile she sighed and laid her head upon her knees, her arms encirlceling her legs.
She did not need to look back to know that he dissappeared into thin air.
She just knew.
Just as she had always known that he would hurt her.
