Casey's story part 5
The old witch was waiting all right. Inside of her home, Aurali and the three teenage boys were sitting in the kitchen. The boys seemed to be rather disappointed with themselves.

"What makes you think Casey will come for me?" Aurali asked.

Toby grinned wickedly. "I know my own son."

They heard car doors and footsteps come up to the front door. The front door opened slowly and the footsteps became louder and louder as they went towards the kitchen.

"Exactly," Toby said. "You see? I know my own son. I know every move he's going to make."

"Array of Revealing Light!!"

The attack hit the floor around Toby's feet. The rays turned into cage like bars around the witch.

"You don't know me, or any of the moves I can make," Phil said. He turned on the three boys. "You three get out of here, and don't try to cause more trouble."

They looked at each other without a word and left.

Casey went straight to Aurali. "Are you all right? Did she try to hurt you?"

Aurali shook her head. "No, she didn't hurt me," she said. "I'm just fine."

"Good. I don't want you hurt. You should leave with Chris; Phil and I will take care of her."

Chris gasped. "Casey!"

He felt pain all over his body. He turned his head just barely to see his mother with dark energy coming out of her hands. She had broken free of Phil's spell. Phil was standing behind her trying to use his light magic on her. His powers were almost useless.

"No!" Chris cried out. She moved in front of Casey and hugged him close.

Toby's hands went down. "Christallina, I'm warning you. Step aside."

"No, you can't do this. Not to your own son," Chris cried. "He was born because of your love. Why can't you show him the love he deserves? He's your son. Your own flesh and blood. If you're going to hurt him, you'll have to go through me, your daughter."

"And me, Casey's brother," Phil said, putting his arms around Chris.

"Don't forget Casey's little sister!" Aurali said. She put her arms around Casey. "You're just going to have to kill all of us right here."

The witch looked at all of them. Their eyes were all on her almost daring her to attack. "What are you doing? Don't you know you'll be killed?"

"As long as we die together," Aurali said, hugging Casey closer.

Toby took a step away from them. Alone they were powerless, but together like this she could feel great power radiating from them. It was something she hadn't felt in a long time. Could that be love?

"What are you waiting for?" Phil asked. "We all said we want to die together."

"No," Toby said. Her voice was shaky. "You're too strong for me. I wouldn't even be able to harm you. You love Casey that much that you would die for him?"

"This is love, Mother," Chris said.

"It's so true and pure," Toby said. She dropped down to her knees. "I feel weak. Your power is too much for me."

Casey smiled. He could feel himself growing stronger from the love his friends had given him. "She won't harm us anymore. Our bond is too strong to break."

The others smiled at him. They could feel in their hearts that his word was true.

They left the Irokai house as a family of brothers and sisters. In their hearts, they knew that if they joined together to face their fears, they would win all of their battles.
