1st day of 1st grade - Completed
Well a week ago today we accomplished the first day of 1st grade. I had not been looking forward to it on my part, but on the other had I looked forward to my daughter going on to a higher grade. When I was growing up I never liked going to school and I especially hated the first day of school. What a suprise Monday morning came and I had knots in my belly and couldnt eat or even sleep the night before. We got to the school and I started to get ansy, my daughter noticed so I tried to loosen up a bit and everything went fine. My hubby and I walked her to class and met her teacher and got her all set and just as I was getting ready to get going. It happened.... The tears started falling. I didnt know how to handle the situation. I expected this to happen but there was no backup plan. Im so glad my hubby was there that day to help out. He said to me " Hunny, lets go and let Lindsey get settled. I know she's growing up too fast and we are so proud of her accomplishments so far. Lets give her one last kiss and be on our way. " Not wanting to spead the tears to my daughter I blew her a kiss and was on my way...... 90mph down the hallway to the car. It wasnt tears of hurt or pain, it was just tears of joy to see my little girl growing up. Gawd it puts knots back into my belly thinking about it all over again lol Well its been a whole week and no more tears and everything is going wonderful. Now I have yet to catch up on all the things that they amazingly want 1st graders to learn before they go off to 2nd grade. Its amazing.
