Am I thie only one who noticed that Steve Irwins death mattered more to people than the 5th anniversary of 9/11? For seriously, I heard more talk about his getting killed today than the 3000 people getting killed five years ago. Kinda shows you where our priorities are, eh?
I beleive that beyond the thousands of people dying, 9/11 hurt us in other, more permanent ways. We are now stuck in a country that we had no reason to go into in the first place and there is no way out. Our soldiers are dying over there every day for a war that our country doesn't seem to care about anymore. How sad is that? And on top of that, people are capitalizing on 9/11. Movies, t-shirts, posters, etc. All ways of making money off of a tragedy that the victim's families will never see. And the patriotism that arose from it? Why wasn't it there to begin with?
Seriously. It's sad.
But on to something more cheerful.
Band.
It's raining now, so if we march on the field tomorrow, it's gonna be muddy to the max. But I doubt it, seeing as we need to finish learning the 4th movement first. And is it just me, or do we desparately need to work on the third? I swear, no one knew what they were doing. I think if we had just not played the third at the competition, we would have beat Greenfield. Apparently the judges were pretty impressed by Exultate.
