The Core of the orchestra is a group of four girls who run the show around our orchestra. As of right now I am on extremely good terms with the core, but it was not always that way at all. I suppose that will be my first story once these people are all chronicled. But anyways, here they are. I suppose I will start with the leader.

Lianna is the best violist ever to pass through Saguaro High School. And, whatever she says goes. She is insanely funny, and very smart, and as of right now, she sees me as a friend. It used to be that I was a handy and willing tool for homework help. But once we stopped having classes, I guess she decided to keep me around. Anyways, I love her company. She is hilariously witty. And now she values my opinion. She enjoys making up words, or mangling pre-existing ones for her own use. You, reader, will hear many stories starring this Lianna. For now, I will leave it at that. But one thing is essential to understand- her will is law in the Saguaro Symphonic Orchestra.

Relationship: Whatever Lianna Thinks
Status: Right now, on good terms.
Alyson is Lianna's number one lackey. She is her shadow. If you were to be familiar with the hostile politicks of an orchestra, you were to ask why the principal viola's will was law, and not the concert master. Well, the reason is that Alyson is the concert master. I do not think that I need to elaborate on that matter. Alyson is an overachiever, just like me. But, according to Brea, she thinks that I am better than her, so she is jealous. Reader, let me tell you that I am nothing to be jealous of. Alyson is very skinny, and annoyingly pretty. And smart, to boot. So, sometimes I can tell that she does not want to be around me. Last year, she hated me because I was friends with Kaileigh who was dating Vince. Alyson liked Vince quite a bit, and the whole core hated Kaileigh for taking him away, and then me, because I affiliated with the enemy. But now, sometimes she is kind to me, even without Lianna around. In these cases, Alyson is more herself, and less uptight. I really cannot say that I understand her all of the time.

Relationship: Former Temporary Stand Partner
Status: She is getting a lot nicer
Well, let me first explain our relationship. Last year, I was third chair, and Samantha was second. Often, Brea would be gone, and we would be stand partners for a few days. Now, she is a first violin, and that is that. However, for a long time, Kaileigh and I were not well liked by her. This was for many reasons. Firstly, the same reason as to why Alyson hated me. And, Samantha is the least liked in the core, even by the rest of the core itself. So, I think she just felt hostile, and I was the next chair down from her, so she harped on me a lot during the second violin sectionals. But, Samantha has developed her own line of thought separate from the core, caused by Katie Sandstrom's parting words to her after graduation, in my opinion. No matter the cause, she is pleasant to be around, if you ask me. Kaileigh disagrees, but she is not one to forgive people for anything.

Ah, Brea. Brea is the blondest girl I have ever met, in all aspects of life. She is hilarious in a different way than Lianna. Sometimes, it is just funny when Brea does not get something. But, she is far from stupid, just gullible. Anyways, Brea and I have always gotten along. We were pretty close in eighth grade with Honor Orchestra and All State Orchestra. But I really did not see her freshman year. Sophomore year, we became closer than ever. She was always encouraging me to beat Samantha so she and I could be stand partners. Of course, that never happened. But this year, we are finally stand partners, as I am seated in the inner circle, at last. I have many Brea stories to tell, and they are some of the fondest memories that I have had in any orchestra situation. Brea does have one thing that sets her out of the core sometimes. She is an athlete, on the softball team. Sometimes, she has to sacrifice one or the other. And often, she chooses softball over orchestra, which greatly upsets the core. It worries me, too, because that would mean that I would be first chair. And, I do not really want that responsibility.
