Granted, I'm sure some people can honestly say that their lives finally felt whole when they left home and went on that ever so fulfilling journey from childhood to adulthood. Its a lie, people kidding themselves, trying to hide their pain....
Its funny, especially when you hit the big leagues of post-secondary education. They warm you up, make you think you can truely handle this independant business. You can't, not truely.
It starts with something so simple. Choosing your courses for school. Now maybe it only applies to the really complicated majors, like...biology and chemistry. NONE of the courses you really want to take are available, or fit into your schedual with the classes you HAVE to take. So, big deal right? RIGHT! Next thing you know you're pulled into difficult classes that you can't enjoy because you never wanted them. And thats just the first step.
Maybe you're one of the people who has your parents pay for everything? This doesn't apply to you, you're not independant! I'm not going to lie, my parents help, but I have 2 part time jobs, and my parents help, and a bank loan, and I have difficulty paying the things I must pay. Right, you're thinking to yourself, what are you spending you money on then? FOOD! No, I do not drink, or smoke, or do any form of contraband for that matter.
One day, you come home from work, after an long tiresome 8 hour shift, and it hits you. Nothing is going right, atleast, not the way you planned for. You're sitting at home on a friday night trying to catch up on assignments, no social life, no friends...except stress and the glow of your computer screen....I hope you're ready, all you young people, bright eyed and bushy tailed heading into the world thinking you have a good hand....
When you break down crying because all you're crackers are broken, you're a real university student....
Hello Stress, where did you go? My only friend...Atleast someone wraps their arms around me...
