In our society of today, many over weight people tend to become social outcasts who have previously been reticuled by others. People who are obese are automatically sterotyped as lazy, stupid, mean, jerk, or any untruthful things. Many cases like mine start at childhood and tend to worsen as one grows up. In my case, I suppose i was overweight or obese for my age a while back, and eventually became some what of a outcast of society. Lack of friends, shy, quiet, and just didn't want to talk or look people in the eye. In other words lack of confidence. That provoked me to lose weight and get back into shape. Still, just talking of my weight, whether i may be obese or not, is uncomfortable for me. Its like an emotional childhood scar.
Obesity is not a word which means stupid, ugly, lazy, mean, or anything. Yet people take it in offense. Obesity is a medical condition which the body is in, the term means that your body is overweight. Why would a person be ashamed that they are obese? Because this society riticules them, harasses them, make fun of their condition. This sounds crazy? Well, how about if i said your child is deaf. Alright, things change and you're slightly impaired. Its a good thing you know now right? Then someone tells you your child is obese or overweight, then you say "Its no bussiness of you to tell me my child is fat". Why would this parent get mad, it just mean that your child needs to excersise, get a better diet or something. Like if your child was deaf, you need to learn sign language, or get him/her hearing aids.
The cruelty of our society has plagued many kids. Social outcasts are created because they simply weight too much. Those years which they are made fun of attacks one's confidence, and once its down, eveyone is still beating it. A child is no longer confident and you can't get that confidence back as easy as they lost it.
