Chiyo had never been out this late by herself.

"Why did mother and father have to go out today?" She wondered.

She peeked out at the dark street. It was scary out there, but she had to do it. She was out of erasers and she had to finish her homework. She had to walk down to the store and buy an eraser!

"I can do it!" She told herself.

Taking a deep breath she stepped out into the street.

"AAAAAHHHH!!" She sprinted for the nearest streetlight. When she reached it she sighed with relief. Then she ran for the next one, again screaming at the top of her lungs. She ran under the blessed light and sighed again.

"Hey, are you alright?" Three figures loomed over her.

She looked up at them fearfully, "Ah- ah- AHHH!! Strangers, go away!" She covered her head.

"Hey, we're not gonna hurt you," One of them said. It was a boy with blond hair who was wearing an orange jumpsuit.

"What are you doing out this late?" A girl asked. She had pink hair.

"I- I have to go to the st-store,"

"Hey, no problem. We'll come with you," The boy in the jumpsuit said.

"No- No! Strangers!" Chiyo started to run away, but someone grabbed her by her collar from behind. It was the third figure, a boy with dark hair and eyes.

"Hey, kid, you can't just go running around at night on your own. It's dangerous," He said.

"B-but... Strangers," She repeated.

"Hey, I'm Naruto," The boy in the jumpsuit said, "And this is Sakura and Sasuke. See? Now we're not strangers,"

Chiyo looked at them reluctantly for a second, "Okay," They started walking.

"So what's your name?" Sakura asked.

"Chiyo," The smaller girl answered.

"Why are you out here so late? What kind of parents do you have who send you to the store at night alone?" Sasuke asked.

"My parents are out tonight and I ran out of erasers so I was going to buy some more," Chiyo explained, "I have to finish my homework soon,"

When they got to the store Chiyo treated them to drinks. They sat down outside to drink them.

"This is like flower watching," Chiyo commented.

"Yeah..." Naruto sighed. Then somehow he offended Sakura in some way and she smacked him across the face.

"You stay away from me Naruto!"

"What did he do?" Chiyo asked innocently.

"Nevermind," Sasuke told her.

Suddenly Chiyo spotted something coming toward her out of the corner of her eye. A cockroach.

"Ah!" She jumped up and brought her foot up to step on it. But then someone grabbed her collar from behind and lifted her off her feet. She looked. It was a man with his face covered by a high collared coat and sunglasses.

"Ah- ah- AHHHHH!!" Chiyo shrieked, swinging her fists, "HELP! ROBBER! It's a ROBBER!!"

The guy dropped her in surprise. She scrambled to hide behind Sasuke.

"Chiyo-chan, that's just Shino, a friend of ours," Naruto said hastily.

"Your friend's a ROBBER!?" Chiyo cried.

"No, he's not a robber!" Naruto told her.

"But his face is covered up like a robber,"

"That's just how he dresses," Sakura explained.

"Oh, sorry," Chiyo said appollogetically.

"We should probably get you home," Sasuke said.

"Yeah, I want to go home," Chiyo yawned.

So they took her home.

"Bye Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto!" Chiyo called from her doorway, "Bye scary robber man!"

Shino sighed.
