Debrah stood with her arms folded, regarding Valin with one eyebrow raised.
"Very well, Elf," she said, unfolding her arms as she pushed her wings out from their resting position. "We won't slow down for you, so either keep up or lose us."
With that, and without waiting for any more words from either Eldrich or Valin, Debrah lept into the air, her wings pushing her from branch to branch until she broke through the forest's leafy ceiling. From this vantage point, she could see the treeless space to which they were heading, still distant in the waning light of the horizon.
"I'm taking my leave, Eldrich," she called down. "Follow when you're ready to do the same."
With that, she soared off toward their destination.

[[Yes, you can tell that it's a different smell. But you still can't tell where it's coming from. You can be suspicious but you can't be 100% sure that I'm in a tree.]]

Eldrich let out a sigh, he decided not to fly, at least not immediately. He began running at such great speed, he could easily keep up with Valin's horse as he rode along. Eldrich continued at this pace, not slowing, stopping, or even showing signs of fatigue.

"not really, I can just move quickly without mortal limitation." Eldrich commented back, still showing absolutely no sign of give. "I would not race because I blieve that I have and unfair advantage, and I want any contest I'm in to be as fair as possible." Eldrich said with a smile. 'Though, looking back, perhaps the battle with some of them monks may have been a bit unfair.'

Eldrich glares at Valin, "I hardly believe that that is true, whoever takes that path will only meet with certain doom. You can't go through with whatever it takes to win, eventually you will think that in a battle during which you end up with the short end of the stick. In fact, had I that train of thought, you wouldn't even be alive." He said, returning his gaze to the path in front, ahead the path was getting darker, though they where currently in no more than low-light.

"Now, I suggest we focus on the mission ahead. The path could start to get dangerous as we move further in." Eldrich said, turning his full attention to the path. Currently they where in dim light, after barely a few minutes' travel, however, the light would reach full darkness.

"I don't see how that is at all your point of reference." Eldrich said, looking at him, hardly amused. "Besides, you never know, we are going into ancient ruins here, there could be mummys, and I tell ya, even with my magic, mummy rot can get very annoying." Eldrich said, getting a little pumped up. Suddenly he leveled his head "Sorry, I got off subject there. But what I mean to say is, we're heading into unexplored areas of the forest, you never know what we could find. For we know, there could be some insanely powerful race of extraplaner half-devil dragons waiting for us." He added with a chuckle.
He then looked up toward the canopy. "Hey, Debrah! You see anything interesting up there?!" Eldrich shouted
