I just wanted to forward this story related to a mission flown yesterday in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Yesterday afternoon Black Knight 104 was called into action to support troops under attack from hostile forces (see attached). The result was one Laser Guided Bomb delivered on target, hostile forces and vehicles destroyed and US and Iraqi military troops on the ground saved. Day in and day, out it may seem like we not making a difference or that because we are bringing back the same weapons we took off with we are not doing anything. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Ideally, if we don't drop weapons it's because things are going well on the ground or are being handled by Iraqi's for Iraq. However, when called upon, our Jets are lethal war machines and thanks to you, they work every time and make a difference. Your work in the squadron in every department makes this possible. Thanks.
