Step-dad

I want you to stay I don’t want you to go, but my momma is so damn ignorant.
She wants you out of our life’s I can see it in her eyes, and I hate her for that.
I didn’t accept you at first as my dad, only because I got used to men in and out of my life.
But you were different.
You never gave up on me, even when I did on you.
You gave me advice and never hesitated to help me through.
You accepted me as your child and you were the only one who has.
Why did my momma leave you, you were truly all I had.
I looked up to you, your courage and your strength to keep trying.
I don’t know what to do…
My real dad wasn’t there, the way you were, you’re the only dad I had that really cared.
You took the time to get to know me, and I saw that as special…
And because of that, you earned the name of a true dad.
When you came to give me a card on my 16th birthday, I was glad you came.
Even though my momma left you, and you weren’t my dad legally anymore…you still came.
Some may think I don’t mean this as much as I do, but I truly, sincerely love you.
As I watched you walk out the door, I saw it in your eyes.
You didn’t want you to leave, as much as I.
So for the first time for anyone, I actually cried!
You loved me, and treated me different through all momma’s other men.
So I’m glad you were my dad even if it only was for a second.
You really are someone special,…
