It is raining A LOT, actually. Parts of the campus walkways are submerged in three or four inches of water. I happen to love the rain, but I hate walking around inside all day in wet clothing and shoes. That is the worst.
At least it is a bit cooler though. I hate the heat!
I am in the library right now on my laptop. The internet here is so much faster (if you connect with a cable, not so much the wireless) than my house, so I might as well stay here. I have a class from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight, so I have about four hours to do nothing. I could go back home, but that means I will have to walk in the rain and get more wet. I would change clothes at home, but it is supposed to rain even more later, so I will just get more clothes and shoes wet if I do that.
Better to just stay in the library and dry. How can you be bored? There are books everywhere! And not all of them are boring and academic. You can just read magazines if you wanted to, or watch movies. I have been importing music CDs into my computer for the last hour, all the CDs of opera and orchestra performances and jazz and even some popular music you could ever want.
The moral of the story: on rainy days the library is a cool place to be.
