The story of an angel who just didn't belong
The last dragon speaker-Part 3
Aariphex awoke to the sounds of screaming coming from the other room. He leaped from his bed and got dressed as quickly as possible. He looked out the window and saw a strange light. He knew it was dark out from the sky, but nearly everything was visable. He burst through the door to the main room in his house. His mother's form lay crumpled in the corner, a pool of fresh blood forming around her. A man with spikey black hair stood in the center of the room, blood dripping from two long blades on his arms. He turned to Ariphex and smiled. Ariphex looked shocked as he turned and ran into his room, tears welling up in his eyes. He grabbed as much as he could and stuffed it into his pack. As he moved to the window, two blades hacked down his door. With out looking he jumped through his window and landed hard on his side on the dirt path. All around him the village was burning. He ran to the market place to see if anything remained. It too was left a burning mess. He ran to the familiar tent of Levi. He ripped open the flaps and went inside. Levi sat in his chair clutching his chest. Blood poured from an open wound. "Ariphex." He ran to the old mans aid. "It's too late for me boy, take this." He handed him an object wrapped in red cloth. He immedietly recognized it as the guantlet. "But Levi." "I am short for this world and don't have much time so listen up. You are the last dragon speaker with out taint and that is the only guantlet free of corruption. Take it with you and may you have a sa-" his words died out as he let out his last breath. Ariphex hung his head in mourning before running from the tent. The only person left that he cared about was Xyla and he intended to save her. He put the guantlet in his pack and ran to the housing of Xyla. He kicked in the burning door. He had been here before so it wasn't hard to navigate. He went into her room. He found here there, on her floor, coughing violently. The smoke was filling her lungs. He lifted her form the ground and carried her out. She gasped at the air that was only slightly fresher than that of the house, but was a welcomed relief. Slowly, she opend her eyes and looked at him. "Ariphex?" "It's alright, I'll get you out of here." He turned with her in his arm and sorrowfully left his home. He took one final look at the burning mess that he had once called home and then continued on his way. After an hour or so, they wound up in a forest. Ariphex layed Xyla down on a pile of fallen leaved to rest. As she sleeped he built a fire. He took out a bit of food from his bag and scewerd it with a stick he had sharpened. Holding it over the fire it slowly cooked. Once it was ready he gently shook Xyla shoulder. Her deep brown eyes fluttered open and she stared up at him. "What happened?" "I'll explain it all later, for now, eat." He handed her the food and she eat it quickly. Clearly she had been hungry. Once the small meal was finished, she lay her head back down to sleep. "It's alright Xyla, rest for now. We have a big day ahead of us." She smiled and drifted off to sleep. Ariphex smiled as well and leaned back. His smile faded as the image of his village bathed in flames danced through his mind. Soon he was lost in the dark grip of his own nightmares.

(I liked part 2 better, but I can't go leaving out parts now can I? No matter. This part actualy helped me make a final decision on the co-existance of my two stories. I'll explain more about it later, but for now, Ariphex thinks that the only survivors were him and Xyla. However, one more person survived, Sorn, the boy who bought the saphire ring after Ariphex had passed it up. Well, hope you've enjoyed the story thus far.))

But I don't know how a backwards 'e' sounds... sweatdrop
So I guess you and Rae had an argument or something, from what I can discern from her journal, hope that worked out...

'k. So when Ariphex said, 'What!? I can't leave' he had already packed up his stuff... That doesn't makes sense, he didn't know he was leaving yet, and he didn't know he had to have weapons either...

Wouldn't he think about his family a lot more than that>?... Just one 'I can't leave them' and then he never thinks about it again? That's not right...

This is shaping up exactly like that book 'Eragon'... And it's like, now he finds dragon egg or something? >>>>
