My New Novel
Part 1
A girl sits in the corner of a dark room sobbing, calling out to the empty space in grief as if there are phantoms there to hear her cries. Tears of black stream down her cheek as her makeup slowly becomes nonexistant. Her name is Sarabith.
An hour ago word came that her beloved parents were killed in a car crash. Their broken bodies lay on the blood soaked pavement. They were her soul support and only family. Now she's alone, or so she thinks.
The next day there was a knock at her door. Upon hearing it she did not move. She shrivled at each blow at the wooden frame, wishing whoever was there would leave. It was obvious, however, that the mystery person was not backing down, so she pulled her ragid frame from the floor and draged her limbs toward the front enterance.
When she opened the large, oak door, she saw standing infront of her a tall, built man in a black suit. He was a handsome fellow, with stern eyes and what appeared as a light covering of beard around his chin.
She stared at him for a moment, perplexed, not knowing what to say. After a moment he spoke in his surprisingly smooth voice.
"Miss Sarabith Terabloom?" he asked.
"This is she. Who are you?"
"My name is Victor, but that's not important."
"What is it that you need me for?" she asked in her weak voice.
"I've come reguarding your grandmother."
Sarabith looked at him for a while, shocked at hearing this.
"M-my grandmother? I-I thought she died years ago."
"Well she is very much alive, and has volunteered to be your guardian. My deepest sympathies about your loss."
"Thank you." Sarabith said in deep thought. Her face grew with the pain she released the night before. Quickly trying to compose herself she said to him, "Can I have a moment to back my things?"
"No need," said Victor, "she has provided you with a new wardrobe!"
"Oh..."
"Yes, well we must be off. It takes quite a long time to get there."
"Very well." Sarabith whispered as her eyes glanced back at the home she would never see again. She climbed into the open door of the black limo still looking back at old memories. The door shut, and Victor walked to the drivers side, got in, and drove off leaving the large, gothic mansion in the distance.
