Chapter 1: My name is Silver
Heavy thumping echoed silent and steady from the engine room, overrun by noises of the passenger hall. Chatting people, yelling children and mothers and grumpy elders all heading from the big city of Belan to whatever small town they lived in. The airship was as full as it could be on its way to the capital Mesan where it finally made its landing. The windows of the passenger hall were packed with children trying to see the ground or catch a glimpse of the airships massive propellers. The next airport was still a half an hour’s journey away, yet mothers were already advising their children to stay close because the airport would stay docked to the airship for only a moment before it disconnected and began descending.
A man somewhere in his early thirties walked across the passenger hall gathering looks and comments alike. It wasn’t his platinum hair or fairly good looks the people stared at. His long, polished boots made his arrival heard and the blue coat of the Kings army with its red captain’s sash took everyone by surprise. The boys paid close attention to his sabre and the two shiny pistols on his belt. The man seemed to be in a good mood, so everyone felt a little bit at ease. He headed towards the front of the airship where the more expensive private cabins were located. It was obvious an army officer didn’t travel among the commoners.

An airship cabin was occupied by three people, two women and one man. They all sat on soft, red couches, placed on two walls. There was a window with red curtains on one wall and the door on the wall across it. The man and other woman wore the blue uniform of the army, while the other woman was dressed in white and green robes. She sat by the window, which was half covered by curtains, and looked out. Her other hand was lying on a heavy book and her wrist was covered in bracelets with charms typical to spellcasters.
“With all due respect my lady, could the curtains be closed?” the man asked. He was middle-aged and his hands constantly moved among his short, black beard.
“I have never flew so high, lieutenant Bolen. It is amazing how strong these engines are” the woman smiled. She has young and looked frail with her blond hair, pale skin and almost white eyes.
“Bolen is afraid of heights, milady” the other woman said. Her hair was somewhere in between black and grey and the almond shaped green eyes made her look somewhat cat-like.
“I see. Did the captain say, where he was going, lieutenant Tulan?”
“He was going to get some refreshments, milady. He should be back any minute now” The women were sitting on the same couch; however the lieutenant kept a respectable distance.
The cabin door opened and a man with platinum blond hair and the same blue uniform walked in. He had a basket with him.
“Captain Vasques” the robed woman said and nodded her head.
“Enchantress Shin Mei” the captain bowed politely. “And please, call me Silver”
The enchantress giggled. “When might we get to Mesan?”
“The trip will take another four hours. I hope you don’t mind, I took the liberty of bringing your tea”
“Not at all” Shin Mei said. Bolen looked very uneasy.
