Plant it so I can see it from my windowsill,
Plant it so I can sit under it in the summer heat,
Plant it so its a special place where young lovers meet.
Plant it with your heart at mind,
With a song in rhythmic time,
To the digging of your hands,
As they delve into the lands,
Of your fathers,
Where your love is sure to grow,
As I wait for spring to come.
As springtime nears,
The winter fears,
Slowly dissolve away,
As does the melting snow.
To show your gift to me,
A cherry tree,
Adrift in a gentle silken shower,
Every hour,
I can't help but look out my window into the rosy rain.
