I'm reading this book I found in Borders called The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart. It's a wonderfully funny book with so much drama I can barly put it down!! So I decided that since I have found such a great book I should share it with my friends that read my journal ^^. So I hope you guys like my little 'Speel' on this awesomely cool book!
Anyways. The narrarator of the story is Ruby Oliver, telling the stories of each boy she has ever had a crush on, who has had a crush on her, who has been thought to be her boyfriend, boys who have kissed her, and then real boyfriends. The total on the list is fifteen but she leaves out the teacher she has a crush on so the list is really sixteen. She was told to write the list by the shrink she was forced to see after she had had five panic attacks, Doctor Z. She was told to leave out no boy (Even if there wasn't a real relationship). I'm not going to go into detail and ruin the story for anyone that wants to read it...
Anyways. She 'defines' words in the story that I thought I should share with you because they are absolutly hilarious!!!!
Lunatic: Insane-asylum didates, people tearing their hair out and stabbing horses in the eyeballs and whatever.
Tragics: People who get help because they've had something really bad happen to them, like getting cancer, or being abused.
Neurotics: Middle-aged men who think about death all the time and can't tell their own mothers to stop poking into their lives.
Leper: Leprosy is a supercontagious disease that rots your body so badly that bits of you actually fall off. In Tate prep universe, a leper is someone with no friends.
Muffin: Nice, pleasing, but ordinary. A perfectly fine baked good- But nothing to get too excited about. Not as festive as a cake. Not as gkamorus as a croissant. Not as scrumptious as a cookie.
Debacle: A sudden, complete, ludicrous downfall.
Those are all the thing I have to tell you right now... I'm only at boy #6. Well here is the book:
And it's sequal (I haven't read but want to read) is named The Boy Book.
