It has been five years since Sephiroth's second coming that nearly brought about the end of the Planet again. It was through the valiant efforts of Cloud and his friends that the world was saved from this gruesome fate, and now the people and the Planet itself are at a well earned, deserved, and restful peace. The people of Midgar have managed to rebuild the city back to its former glory with the cooperation of the ShinRa CO, which has become a more environmental friendly corporation itself; it has been through their own experimentation and desire for a better future that they were able to discover a way to recycle the Mako energy they sapped from the Lifestream deep beneath the Planet's crust. With the discovery of oil as well, they've managed to push forward faster in a way they never could have imagined in the ways of technological development.
Monsters still walk the earth and they continue to grow more numerous than the people themselves, and far more dangerous. SOLDIERs are being stationed everywhere now that ShinRa CO. has become a more acceptable part of the world and now that many of the countries have come across a treaty of unity between each other. It's through combined efforts between ShinRa and each city's own military that the monsters are kept at bay but more attempts are made to quell the accelerating population of creatures, which makes it difficult for even safe walks now.
Rebellions are also still present, including the original AVALANCHE, which is no longer run by Barret Wallace who has since retired due to old age and that he feels that ShinRa is no longer corrupting the Planet as they once were. It is in the hands of his daughter now who adamantly disagrees with her father's own opinions and seeks to bring ShinRa to the ground where it had been once upon a time. Other smaller rebellions are located all over, but AVALANCHE is the most infamous and strongest of them with bases located all over. While both AVALANCHE and ShinRa are constantly at war with one another, life does still go on. Every day more and more recruits are sought to fill the growing ranks of SOLDIER and more are sought to bring AVALANCHE to an incredible strength to take on their enemy. Others go on to live their lives as normally as they can despite this war and despite the monsters, and others still wait patiently for a darker day to strike back.

There has been a monster terrorizing the slums of Midgar, killing several dwellers and wounding many more. It is on a relentless hunt for more victims and should be considered very dangerous. Approach with caution and at your own risk. IT MUST BE CAPTURED ALIVE. If seen, please contact the nearest ShinRa SOLDIER to get assistance in its capture. It is most active from dusk to dawn but has not yet revealed a pattern in its hunting methods.

Rules for participating in in-thread stories.
- You can only play a normal civilian character if you do not have a character already. You cannot play the character you wish to have since many people wish to be official characters, Sephiroth Clones, Monster/Humans, and more.
