Soquili's Name: Aellabell (a combination of Aella 'whirlwind' and Bellare 'to fight')
Gender: female
Temper: wistful
Personality of Soquili:
Aellabell's theme song
Backstory:
((A portion of her history can be viewed Here. However, that backstory was written upon the decision that Harpie Soquili were no longer available in events. With this chance though, I'd be more than willing to alter the flow of her story and eventual survival.))
With that in mind, here is a rewritten brainstorm of what her history could have been instead:
Aellabell was originally born within the Hatetalon flock many years ago, and therefore grew up with the intense warrior mentality of such a herd. From a young age, she viewed ruthless acts of survival and dominance on a daily routine, and so she never regarded them as 'violent' or 'dark'. Males were also a topic she never truly understood, except that they were lower in status in comparison to females. Either they obeyed the demands of their superiors, or they were discarded...to put it lightly.
And so Aellabell grew up among her sisters, mind and body strong, without a concern in the world to disrupt the harmony of her lifestyle. She would kill just as easily as her flock members in the name of survival, but nothing more. Continuing bloodshed or excessive forces, in her opinion, was just a messy display of pride and she'd rather not waste her energies. It was an act more of her own impatience rather than sympathy for others. And with this quick throat fighting style, Aellabell was marked as a Northspring Roguefeather upon reaching adulthood, a rank that she held with pride despite her reservations. With this duty, she soon learned to enjoy and quench her craving to explore the outer lands while on hunts. But it was that hidden curiosity that would turn her world upside down.
While out on a hunt of her own, Aellabell stumbled upon a wind stallion. A worthy stock, and something she'd be flattered to claim as her very own and first prize. However, in her novice attempt to capture something alive and drag back to the herd...it was an embarrassing failure. The stallion was a heavy prize, and his years made him an evasive target, and his tongue bemused at her failure. Insulted and frustrated, Aellabell left the seen and vowed to outwit the stallion another day. But the days passed, and with him now aware of her goal, the stallion avoided it like a game of cat and mouse. Unbeknownst to Aellabell, it wasn't long before his wit and passive nature soon charmed her, and she hunted rather for his company instead of his capture. Before both could realize it, they fell into a pattern that could be called none other than a eloping.
Months passed, and soon Aellabell began to show with a weight in her center. Her sisters raised their brows, and would whisper among themselves. Just who was the father? And why wasn't he captured? Concluding that Aelllabell had become fond of a lower male and that her secrecy meant a lax of respect to her culture, the herd decided to keep a close eye on the Harpie mare's actions. Stealthly following her as she made for a hunt one day, two Harpie sisters were able to locate where she was meeting this mysterious stallion. They held this in secret, waiting to see if Aellabell would act one her own in bringing the male to their territory.
Days passed, and when it was notable that Aellabell had lost some of the girth in her middle, the Harpies reacted. Sending her on a false hunt with other Harpies, the two spies from earlier raced to the area they knew the stallion to linger around.
Returning from her hunt, oblivious to her sister's deeds while she was absent, Aellabell slinked away to eagerly reunite with her beau and her recently birthed baskets. What she found left her broken and stunned. The wind stallion, still and bloodied on the ground, his wings and feathers splayed like pieces of a destroyed puzzle. Trying in vain to revive him, Aellabell had no time to mourn her partner as she realized that her twin baskets were also misplaced. Frantic, she searched the nearby area only to stumble upon a sister Harpie, one of her clawed legs gripping threateningly over a young, feathered Soquili.
In a flurried and bitter rage, Aellabell wasted no time in attacking her Harpie sister. Feelings of betrayal and joy lost motivated her hits, and after a harsh struggling, Aellabell defeated the other Harpie. Not willing to risk other Harpies approaching the area, the mother had no choice but to flee with what she could. Traveling swiftly with her son, Aellabell left in search of another home, in old tales she had heard before of another 'Flock'. Would they provide a sanctuary for another of their species, despite their differences? It was a risk she was willing to take.
However, the memories witnessed by her son would forever put a bridge between them, and one night the boy would flee from his parent, knowing her only as deadly feathers and claws rather than the paternal claws that protected him.
Future Plots:
- If anything, I'd love a backdated rp of when she first discovers the Flock, and through a trial of trust can earn a rank among the sisters. Whether this needs to be done with the Flock leader or not, I'm not certain but wouldn't mind either way. n_n
Choosing to leave behind her brutal talents, Aellabell will instead choose to become a nanny for the Flock. In this, I'd love for her to meet other mother's of the Flock, be them new or old. With this support, I can see her growing into the role of protecting children like she never got the chance to.
While she is still wounded by the loss of her first love, Aellabell will still commit to her sisterly duty of collecting males. However, she'd only accept males who were willing to join their culture, never forced. And while she may not be all too willing to mate soon in her life, she'd make she her 'prizes' were polished in their own talents. Be it music or dancing, etc. Who knows, she might even make them impressionable if they were attempting to woo another Harpie (aka struck dumb with puppy love) xD;
Further development on a rival group (permanent or temporary) found Here. Originally developed as a personal vendetta by her son, it could turn out to be nothing or a fun Meta for the flock to discuss and plan on? I'm open to ideas!
Physical description:
She will have the Cockatoo feather template with the Peacock tail template. Both head and tail feathers are to be colored in gradation blue-purple-pink. (see reference pics) Layered underneath her Cockatoo feathers, I would like to see the braided mane template. The hair would be colored deep blue, while the feathers are the same blue-purple-pink. Body color is white, with peach-yellow gradation down her legs and on her cheeks like a blush. She will have royal blue markings as a) blazes on her face and b) cloud outlines on her back legs. (Actually now that I see it, the Peacock tail covers much of this detail. I'd either have to add this marking to her front legs or ask Sirenz if she can overlap the back leg on top of the peacock template? We'll see. n_n) Her eyelids will also have a charcoal shading. Eyes are colored bright gold, with no whites showing like the original Harpies.
Reference pictures (optional):
Main ref - faded scars on front legs, flat gold rings on one front leg, flat armlet on the other front leg. Shoulder armor made of black ribbons, rib bones, and white feathers. Back legs have cloud markings fading up to the hips. Thin outline of clouds is in royal blue and fades the closer it gets to the hip. The skin on the legs will be fading from peach-yellow near the feet to white up the leg.
Setsumi: Aellabell's daughter of the twins. Originally a feathered OC, Setsumi was considered a basic mutant. But since the arrival of the Harpies and their feathered traits, I was ecstatic to establish a Harpie lineage to Setsumi's background.
Kyiyani: Aellabell's son of the twins. He took on no mutations, and inherited more of his father's Wind bloodline.
Cloud reference: Like her grandson, I would appreciate the markings to be smooth, soft and fading slightly into the skin.

When my rl schedule permits. n_n; Ever since getting two jobs, I juggle in b/c rp and stories whenever I can. And when it does, I simply love being involved in rps with descriptive, deep replies and a vivid setting.
