"No new scents....good."

Phaidra's calm golden eyes scanned the white-blue landscape below her, the thought that just crossed her mind making no impact on her features whatsoever. The sun was just beginning to peak over the horizon, alighting everything in this area in a sort of angelic palette - blues, golds, ivory hues, all mixing together at one point or another, glistening as the snow sparkled and melted under the sun's gaze. Here, she stood like a statue, a stone saint standing on the edge of a cliff...but the stone shifted, when the greater of her two sets of wings ruffled slightly. A daily ritual, but an enjoyable one - watching over her land. Hmph, Houses and Clans aside, this was her chosen 'child', the place that her shadow would always fall over...the place that would forever be guarded by her.

Ah, but she was bored now.

With a great flourish of feathers the Aviandra was in the air, gliding slowly down to the tree-dotted ground below her perch. There were very few in this particular area, so she could do this without the irritation of being spotted and gawked at. Regal Hybrid perhaps, but one best suited for an odd sort of loneliness. This was how she viewed herself, at least, and one's perception was one's own reality. So she stayed relatively hidden, in the place of her choosing, left to her own musings. And it was those musings she tended to upon landing, folding her wings and walking gently through the few trees that could survive in such cold.

Tasaaki glanced around in the forest, worried that she'd heard something odd. She was currently out hunting with her brother, Hisoka. They didn't get food often, so they had tried to hunt every day in hopes of catching even a small hare to share. "Hisoka, where are you?" she called, worry in her eyes. The black-coat colored foxen twitched her tail in annoyance. She had hoped they'd be able to hunt some kind of food before dawn...they'd been hunting all, and she was hungry and tired.

Hisoka crashed through the brush to meet up with his sister. "Sorry, Tas! I had to look for Tsuzuki! He got us lost." Tsuzuki the flying squirrel was perched on Hisoka's back, shivering. The squirrel despised the winter, but had come to live with these two foxen mainly because they found him and didn't eat him... and these two were most definitely starving at the time. "So, Tas, did you find anything?" His sister shook her head. "No. I though I heard a bird, but it's probably me. C'mon! You had me worried. Let's go. I'm tired." Hisoka gave her a sheepish and grin and followed his sister through the small forest... if it was called that at all, for there were few trees that yet survived in this tundra.

Phaidra paused mid-step upon hearing...voices? Well, either that or the birds had learned something new. Other Hybrids must have arrived. Or humans....hmph, in the case of the latter, she'd get an easy breakfast.

Tail swaying softly back and forth, she glanced all around, looking for whoever or whatever had ventured into her domain. Despite the fact that they COULD be humans, her muscles stayed relaxed, as she had nothing to worry about either way. She was...pretty confident in her own skills, and in her breed, so why worry?

Suddenly, the wind changed, bringing new scents in her direction. Ah...her visitors were to the west. Might as well go visit - she was feeling sociable enough. Haha. The Aviandra began striding slowly once again, turning slightly to the left so as to head in the direction of the voices and the creatures belonging to them.

Tasaaki sighed. "Let's take a break, guys. We've been up all night..." The wind was blowing a little harsh this morning, and Tasaaki was exhausted. If you went without food for a while, your strength gives out faster than normal. "I swore I heard wings..."

"Yeah, yeah, I know," said Hisoka, coming to rest beside his sister. He was also tired, and even though normally Tsuzuki was nothing, at the moment the squirrel felt like dead weight on his back. "Soooo tired..." he moaned.

The wind slowed briefly, letting her walk without having to work against the air....but a sudden gust irritated her to the point where she simply unfurled her wings and, with a few mighty pumps, took to the air again. She rose quickly, finding a spot where the wind would not bother her and gliding through the calmer air that came with a higher altitude. Having the coloration much akin to a snowy owl, she could almost pass for one..except for the fact that she had four legs, a tail, and areas of icy blue on her pelt as well. Yeah, those COULD give her away

A hint of movement, a slight color distortion below made her glacne down. Two creatures, both about the size of a Foxen....perhaps these were her visitors. They looked rather young, at least to her....and tired. Hmm.

Curious, she made a wide circle and landed a good 200 feet from them, amidst four or five trees that decided to grow a little closer together than would seem normal in this climate. Because of this, there was a small chance they would not see her...oh well. Perhaps that was for the best.

((Okay. I'm going to be al little slow too--I'm in another RP.))

Tasaaki perked up instantly. She knew that this time she had definitely heard the flapping of wings. "Who... Who there's?" she called out. The wingbeats were larger sounding compared to any other bird she knew. She was trembling from fright for her brother, from weariness, and fear of a predator bigger than her and her family.

Hisoka jerked as Tasaaki suddenly looked up, her ruby eyes looking everywhere warily. His ears laid back and he lowered his head, ready to pounce. His light colored fur helped him to blend in with the winder just slightly.

Phaidra chose not to answer, simply because...she didn't want to. A slight flick of her head tossed a thick section of blue/white streaked hair from her vision, but left a few strands to shadow her eye. Her See-ers Stone glittered faintly - she could use it, find out what these Foxen were thinking, if they were afraid...but the Tundra's guardian didn't feel like it. Surprises were fun, sometimes.

No change in expression, no change in demeanor, she began walking t'wards the two, her intelligent golden orbs peaking lazily out beneath half-closed lids. It was a slightly holier-than-thou stance, perhaps, but she didn't mean to come off as such - normally, anyway. It would be interesting to see how these two would react to her presence.

Tasaaki backed away as she watched this new hybrid walk toward her and her brother slowly. "If you plan to hurt us, we have no choice but to attack you back. If you only want to greet us, we are more than willing to greet you," she said politely, though with a slight thread in her voice. Sure, she was small, and young, but she learned quickly.

Hisoka hissed softly, blue eyes watching the new hybrid with interest, awe, and fear. The way she moves is almost as if she's saying she's superior... and in a way, she is... he thought to himself.

The Aviandra simply kept approaching them, her wings held close to her body, tail swishing only lightly back and forth. She did not respond to the female Foxen's words..except to give her a brief moment of direct attention by way of eye contact. The words of the female nor the defensive hiss of the male phased her - she just kept coming, disregarding whatever threat they decided to throw her way.

Approximately two feet away, she halted. Closing her eyes, she sat upon her haunches, the wind ruffling her fur and feathers...though this did not irritate her - she was a creature of the ice, after all. After a moment, her eyes opened, and she glanced through still half-closed eyes down at the two, who were obvously a little..unnerved? Whatever.

"You are hungry, are you not?" she said quietly. Her voice was soft, but it held an air of power, authority, wisdom..and a little blatant indifference.

Tasaaki shivered, both from the cold wind and the power that the hybrid spewed. "...Yes..." she said, trembling. She, too, was in awe, but was also nervous. She didn't know anything about this kind of hybrid... "What do... what do you call yourself?" At the moment, Tasaaki was feeling very small and helpless.

Hisoka whimpered when he realized his hiss did nothing to the hybrid, and he slunk behind Tasaaki, but kept his eyes on the winged hybrid. He could feel Tsuzuki shivering with fear on his back, and from the small squeaking noises he made, it was possible Tsuzuki was also cold, even with all the fur he had.

She watched them both for a brief moment more, before walking past them without a word. She turned her head a little - just enough so they could tell she was speaking to them - and voiced but a word.

"Follow."

Phaidra then continued walking. She did not glance behind her again - if they wanted to follow, they would. If they wanted food, they would follow. If they did not follow...well, that was their own fault. She did keep her steps slow, however, so they would not lose her if they indeed choose to follow.

Tasaaki blinked, then shivering, nodded to her brother. She stood shakily and began to follow the hybrid, unsure if what she was doing was the right thing. "C'mon, Hisoka! Maybe she'll take us somewhere safe that has food!" Tasaaki called behind her.

Hisoka struggled to lift himself from the snow and began to follow after his sister and the hybrid that was leading them somewhere. "I'm coming, Tasaaki, I'm coming," he said wearily. Trekking through snow was tougher than it looked.

Phaidra moved effortlessly over the snow....the harder-packed parts of it, at least. Regardless, she stayed silent, careful to stay slow enough for the others to keep with her, but quick enough to as to satisfy her own wants. After all - she was hungry too.

Several minutes more of walking, and her pace slowed even more. No real reason - she just decided to slow down. All the while, she stayed silent, as she always had. As far as she could tell, the Foxen were still behind her - she could hear the sound of their feet hitting the snow. Good. They were smart, at least. Time to see if they were smart enough to keep following her and not let their mind trick them into thinking she was some psychotic killer, despite the fact that she had given them no information whatsoever as to who she was, or what she was, and was asking them to follow her blindly to some unknown location. Hmph.

It seemed as if the snow went on endlessly before them - a giant wasteland of cold. Heh, not quite. Suddenly, the Aviandra leaped forward, seemingly at nothing....

..and went down, disappeared from the view of the Foxen.

She did not move upon landing, just in front of a stone cave that went deep into the earth. See, if one came upon the cave from the right angle...it would seem as if the drop-off of the ground was never there - they would be walking, and all of a sudden fall about 10 feet and be in front of a cave. Quite amusing.

Ah, but these were ones younger than she....."Just go to where I stood last, and jump. I'll be waiting in the cave." she said. With that, she ventured into her home - one of many.
