The primary objective of this project is for the participants to get an understanding of how people craft their spells and to grasp some of the techniques used in spell formation. Over time the participants will start to develop their own unique spell crafting style through the project.

This thread is posted within the FAQ section of the guild because it is in many ways a "class" or activity in which new seekers and experienced participants may enjoy the exploration and experimentation of the formulation and crafting of spells and magical crafts.

The rules for the project and expectation of behavior were set above this now here are the guidelines in participation and the schedule for posting. Participation is in now way required week to week, but try to participate as much as you can.

1: Each week there will be a new theme in a new thread. The thread for that theme is where all the posts related to the spells chosen and the spells concepts are to be discussed here.

2: Each week you will be required to post a source spell whose focus or materials have something to do with the original theme of that week. The reworked spells do not need to include the same elements

3: Each week your goal is to post 4 reworked spells off your original source spell. If you can't post 4 spells then do your best.

4: All the spells must be posted within the week of the posted theme.

5: Discussions about the project and how you feel about a theme and the like will be discussed here.

Here I will post any questions that gets asked frequently.

Q: What if I can't buy the book or have no spells in any of my books?
A: Borrow a book from a library or write down a spell from a book store / reference you have available

Q: Do Ebooks qualify?
A: So long as you source them correctly ie title and author so other people can find it. The same applies for e-magazines.

Q: Do we have to participate every week?
A: No. There is nothing forcing people to participate every week. The goal is to participate every week but I understand that life gets in the way and some weeks you may have more time than others.

Q: Do we have to join from the beginning?
A: No. You can join in at any time.

Q: There is a theme I would like us to explore can I suggest them?
A: Yes, here in the main thread.

Q: What qualifies as a reworked spell
A: You have to be able to see the inspiration from one aspect of the spell you have reworked. As in when we look at the spells you rework we should be able to see how they came from the original spell.

Q: Is casting the spells a requirement?
A: No. The goal is to practice writing and reworking spells for your own use. If you in the process of writing these spells feel a need to try them and use them go for it and share your results.

Also in terms of finding spells try using google books. You get books loaded up that you can browse through but it doesn't show all the pages so you may be missing a chapter or few.
