Tenkai charged the shadow staring into it’s defiant eyes as it glared at him. Tenkai smiled. He couldn’t help it. He knew that this battle was between life and death now but he couldn’t help thinking this was just another match with himself on the Mental Plain. Then he got the idea. Tenkai jumped back and stopped. The shadow’s head cocked in confusion as Tenkai closed his eyes. The shadow took this as a taunt and charged Tenkai. He felt the pangs at his armor but he let his mind slip and his eyes glaze over. Raphael stood on his seat and cheered loudly. This is what he was waiting for. Finally he would see what Tenkai looked like fighting himself like he had done all those times before in his backyard. “C’mon Tenkai ” Ralph cheered. Tenkai ignored the cheers and focused on the black mass that was in the Mental Plain. “So you exist on both Realms?” Tenkai asked. “Took you long enough. Fighters are always the slow ones...” The shadow said on the Mental Plain. Tenkai spun his blades in his hands once more. “How about we make this interesting?” Tenkai asked. “I need not agree to anything you pathetic mortal, you are just wasting space in my home.” The shadow spat. “Fine then, let’s end this.” Tenkai said. They both charged each other and clashed in the center of the ring. The spectators could feel the Ki emanating from the ring and they got excited, rasing from their seats and cheering loudly. Even the Announcer had to yell over the crowd. The wind picked up around the ring as the two fought, their moves blurred from their speed. “By the gods...this is amazing!” The announcer exclaimed. “In all of my time announcing battles have I ever seen two men move at such a pace ” He added rubbing his eyes to make sure what he was seeing was real. Finally the two broke apart and jumped high into the air and pushed away from each other landing on a spire across from another. He’s exactly as I am. I don’t know how much more I can take.... Tenkai thought as he recovered his breath. The shadow merely stared him down while in the metal plane it was laughing at him. “Can’t keep up can you?” It asked. Tenkai kept his silence as he started to glow, charging his Ki for another strike. In the Material Plane the winds picked up quickly and Tenkai started to glow. “Look at him glow Things are about to get heavy ” The announcer yelled. The shadow merely sneered at Tenkai and started to glow as shade of purple. Tenkai swung his blade and a blade of air surged tword the shadow. He grinned and slashed at it, sending right back. Tenkai cut the blade sending it back as well but he jumped down into the ring. As he jumped he brought his sword down in a slice causing another energy charged blade to go flying at the shadow. It blocked the first but it was to weak to even hold the second blade of energy back. The shadow was sent flying through a wall and out again landing in the mercantile sector. Tenkai waited patiently as the shadow dragged it’s self back into the arena. “I will kill you.” The shadow said in the mental plane. “Prepare to meet your end.” Tenkai said in both realms. In a quick charge Tenkai over took the shadow and sliced and diced it until it was nothing more than smoke in the wind. As the shadow vanished Tenkai’s eyes returned to normal and heard the crowd cheering for him. Even Leon was on his feet clapping. Tenkai bowed and dropped to a knee from exhaustion. Raphael quickly went to assist him and raised Leon’s hand in the air. “Today’s winner...Tenkai Nankobo!” The announcer declared. Tenkai leaned on Raphael and moved his head twords his ear. “This is where you take me home.” He said weakly. Raphael nodded and he led him off the stage and brought him back twords his house. “Next is the semi-finals, you’re almost done Tenkai!” Raphael exclaimed. “Yeah....” He said weakly. They reached Raphael’s and he dropped Tenkai in his room. “Thank’s Ralph...” Tenkai said quietly. “No problem.” Raphael said leaving the room. He went back to the arena to watch Leon’s fight for Tenkai while he slept.

A day passed before Tenkai finally awoke from his sleep. “Ugh...what hit me...” Tenkai asked holding his head from the pounding. “A shadow, but you whooped it’s a** nicely.” Raphael said with a straight face. “What’s wrong, usually you would be smiling?” Tenkai asked. “It’s your next opponent. Leon Lionheart...” Raphael said slowly. Tenkai smiled slightly and nodded. “We knew it would come to this. I just hope he doesn’t back out on his promise.” Tenkai said excitedly. “I’d don’t get you Tenkai...” Raphael said laughing abit. “Neither do I.” He said now grinning. Both of them laughed as Tenkai got out of his bed. “Now I need to shower and go see my next opponent.” Tenkai said still excited about the fight. “Alright well I’ll be here when you get back.” Ralph said with a nod. “Alright see you later.” Tenkai said grabbing a new set of clothes and a towel.
