It took Tenkai a week to finally return to his homeland. Spent and tired, he slowly rode into town in the dead of night. He decided to see his lord first, wanting to fully complete his quest first before doing anything. He slowly marched forward, passing guards and nobles on his way, making sure to bow to those higher than him as he passed them. As soon as he entered the throne room where Lord Toshi sat the room became quiet and all eyes were on Tenkai. He bowed slowly and his lord beckoned him forward. Advancing tword the second platform Tenkai bowed again and presented the gem that Toshi sought after. “Tenkai you did it...I had no doubts like a samurai like yourself you complete this task.” Toshi said having a servant take the gem and bring it to him. “My lord, have I been forgiven? Is my honor regained?” Tenkai asked slowly. “Yes Tenkai, you have proved your worth to me and your honor is restored. Oh and I also picked something up for you in the marketplace, I’m sure you’ll like it.” Toshi said with a grin. “Thank you Lord Toshi.” Tenkai said raising from his bow. “You are dismissed Tenkai, good night.” Toshi said. Tenkai left slowly and went to his room in the castle.

As he reached his door he didn’t even bother knocking. He was so weary from battle and traveling that all he wanted was his bed. As he entered his room though he felt a presence. He heard growling from the side of him and saw a wolf sitting right next to the door. It barked at him and stopped seemingly losing interest in him. Tenkai merely shook his head. Was this the thing Lord Toshi picked up for me? Tenkai wondered as he went deeper into his room. He began removing pieces of armor and his swords when a woman entered his room from the balcony. “Tenkai...?” She asked. Tenkai halted when he saw the woman. The voice was so familiar but she looked so different. Was it really her? She began to cry and looked angry at Tenkai. “What have you already forgotten about me?” She asked, tears welling up in her eyes. He slowly approached her as she rubbed away the tears in her eyes. “Sasuku?” He asked slowly. “So you do remember me...” She said. Tenkai grabbed her in an embrace and for the first time since he began his quest for his honor he completely relaxed. “Of course I remember you, how could I forget?” He asked. She laid her head on his shoulder and hugged him tightly. “I missed you Tenkai.” She said slowly. “I missed you too....Sasuku.” He replied, closing his eyes. “I’m sorry that I made you cry Sasuku, it’s just...you look so different from when I last saw you.” He said rubbing his head against hers. “That’s because I’m no longer a bard. I’m a Druid now, and that wolf behind you is Arashi.” She said. Tenkai felt a nudge against his leg and he smiled as he turned to face it. It barked at him and looked at him sternly. Sasuku looked at Tenkai as he looked confused. “What did he say?” Tenkai asked looking down to Sasuku. “He said you had better protect her, or I’ll hurt you.” She said. Tenkai bowed his head and held Sasuku closer to him. “I promise to protect you with my life.” He said seriously. The wolf nodded and went to sit back by the door as Tenkai and Sasuku sat on the bed. “Who taught you the ways of the Druid, I heard they lived way out in the forest and when I left you we were no where near one.” Tenkai said. “A woman with my name actually.” Sasuku said leaning on Tenkai as they talked. “Another Sasuku...? She wouldn’t have married a man named Leon did she?” Tenkai asked, looking down at her. “Well yeah she did but I never saw him. She said he was away at some tournament, how do you know?” She asked looking up. “I met him. My quest took me to the same tournament and we fought together.” Tenkai said. “Really?! What was he like? Sasuku told me some things about him and he sounded like you.” Sasuku said. Tenkai smiled and nodded. “He and I are alike in many ways. And he is a good man.” He said resting his head on hers. Sasuku smiled and nodded and they both were quite, just happy to have each other once again.


After a few minutes longer they both decided to rest, and slept with one another. When morning came they both bated and Tenkai went to see his Lord once more with Sasuku and Arashi in tow. “Ah Tenkai I hope your night was enjoyable.” Toshi asked. “Aye it was.” He said looking back twords Sasuku. “So what is it that brings you here?” Toshi asked. “Well Lord Toshi I’m here to ask if I may continue my quest that I was originally on.” Tenkai asked with a bow. Sasuku bowed as well and Toshi laughed. “If that is your wish Tenkai, you may do as you like.” Toshi said. “Thank you Lord Toshi.” Tenkai said. He managed to hide his amazement as he bowed and as they left. As they mounted their horses Tenkai looked at Sasuku. “So, are you ready to return?” He asked. “I’m ready when you are.” She said with a nod. “Then let us leave.” He said. They both look off with Arashi running beside them.
