The Velleity to be Mortal

His pale hand rested upon the dustless windowsill
His black hair graced his elegantly white face
His eyes were hostile; he seemed dressed and ready to kill
He turned to me as I fingered my black lace.

He spoke not as he eyed me but viewed me head to toe
He held out his hand; I took it and I stood
A slight smile appeared and he said, “I shan’t let you go.”
I took his word as true; I knew that I could.

He lightly stroked my cheek and kissed it with a soft touch.
His fangs brushed against me but he harmed me not.
I told him not to leave and that I loved him so much.
Must there be victims when sustenance he sought?

He kissed me once more and my head fell into his chest.
We stood there in the ever-spreading darkness.
The door was ajar and in stepped his comrade, the best.
We eyed him closely; the stillness was broken.

He cleared his throat several times and motioned to leave
The twilight had ceased and night was upon us
My love then nodded to him and told me not to grieve
The window was opened; the room filled with susurrus.

Then his friend climbed up the sill and jumped without a care
My love took one step up and looked back to me
“I wish with you my immortality I could share
We could live together for eternity”

No notion did I have as to why he said this now
I hoped he had nothing drastic planned to do
Me immortal or he mortal this could be done how?
He finished my thoughts by stating “I love you.”

He took a deep breath and leaped into the cold darkness
I gazed where their disappearing figures went
My lover had made me overwhelmed with his kindness
I figured from heaven he must have been sent.

But my love I never saw again…

This poem is about a vampire told from his lover. Though it doesn't say the vampire's name is Geoff and the women's name is Antoinette.
