The Charr used dark magic to scorch the land,
Our great blue rivers and lakes have turned to sand,
Green hills and forests are barren and wasted,
Now our home is wrecked with strange rock formations.
The great wall has fallen and the flowers have withered.
With Charr on the doorstep, our soldiers say, "Come hither."
Though many have died, we hold fast and fight back,
We fight for the people of Ascalon, for every ruined shack.
We claimed the Frontier and the Ruins of Surmia,
With more bloodshed than in any great arena.
To the Dragon's Gullet, marching from Regent Valley,
We beat the Charr even at Nolani Academy.
Although we've fought bravely, it is time for these tactics to end,
Prince Rurik will lead his people to Kryta to claim a new land.
As they retreat we advance through the enemy lines,
The Ebon Vanguard will attack the Charr from behind.
Many have died, but with the fallen in mind we fight on.
For the red iris flower, for the Vanguard, for Ascalon!
