Nala quickened her pace as the sun began to rise. It has snowed again last night, though now it wasn't, but you could tell by the new looking snow blanketing the ground. She looked back at the village as she walked. Her strong eyes could just make out the house lines. And if she strained them the occasional person walking by. She strained them now, to make sure no one was following her. Her eyes did a quick sweep and she concluded that she was alone. She turned her head around, and veered past a tree she was about to hit. Nala, pay more attention she thought to herself, but she knew she was allready running late.
Nala's course changed slightly, she was now heading to what looked like a cave, but covered in snow. She stopped a couple feet from the entrence, and waited.
After a half a minute or so, a pair of gleaming ember eyes were peering at Nala from the cave. Nala didn't move, or look at the eyes. She had made it a habit to look at the top of the cave when they were assessing her. Looking into their eyes ment she wanted to challenge them.
After a minute of being watched. They eyes lost their hard glare, and was came out of hiding. It bounded up to her, it's black, white and grey coat ruffling in the strong winds outside the cave. It looked at her with soft ember eyes, it's tail wagging as circled her and sniffed her.
"Hey Timber!" Nala said to the wolf as she bent down to pet him "How are you today?" she asked him. Timber was the pack leader, and always the first to come great her "Are you going to let me come in today?" Nala asked him as she stood up. Timber answered by turning around and padding back into the cave. Nala followed him.
After her eyes adjusted, she was able to see the rest of the pack in the cave. Neiges, a white wolf came up and greeted her. Neiges was female, and Nala's favorite wolf in the pack. Neiges was all white, except her eyes which were a deep blue. Nala bent down to Neiges eye level, and was greeted by a thorough face licking.
"Ahh! Okay!" Nala squeaked through the licks. Neiges stopped licking her and looked at her happily, and then saddened. She turned and walked to a section of the cave, and Nala followed. Neiges lay down in behind a little bundle of fur. Nala sat down on her knees and pet the little bundle. A sound of heavy breathing began as the pup lifted it's head. The pup was Neiges' son, a hyper little pup, until he crossed into another pack's territory. The pup hadn't known any better, and was lucky to escape with his life. When Nala has found him while taking a walk, he was lying in the snow bleeding. There was a cut on his side, and he couldn't open one eye. Neiges had been lying by him, and when Nala stumbled on the two of them. Neiges acted fiercly to protect her pup. But then she recognized Nala, and let her handle her pup.
His fur was a kind of blue-gray color, so Nala had named him Glacier. She examined the cut on his side, which had stopped bleeding and become a scar. His eye also heald a scar, and he could barely open it. She rumaged in one of her many pockets and pulled out a little tube of ointment. She put it on the scars, and put it away. She pet Glacier a bit, then stood up and turned around. Timber had came up behind and had been watching. She smiled at him, he always worried for his wolves, and payed close attention to Glacier.
"He'll be okay" she told him. He looked at her, then back at the pup. Nala smiled again, and walked out of the cave. Timber followed her out, but stopped at the cave entrence and barked something to some of the wolves inside. Three sprang out of the cave and padded into the snow, heading in the direction of the forest. Probably hunting... Nala thought. She waved to Timber, even though she knew he couldn't wave back. She turned from the cave and began to walk back to her village.
