“It depends whose scriptures you are talking about, in Rokes’ scriptures killing a human is forbade, in exception to sacrifices to Rokes. In Xenath’s scripture killing a human is forbade in the exception that they are killed in her name. In the most high gods scripture killing another human is forbade all together save if necessary in order to protect your homeland, your household, and your family, and then only in defense and never as the one at fault.” The preacher stopped talking breathing a little heavier. “Now then, does that answer your question?”
“No, not really… It’s just that I don’t understand why they would want to kill Lanya… Is she not as human as any of us?” Thenin said his voice becoming a little more confident.
“Well, no she isn’t, I mean she is a vampire a completely different species, an… an abomination against God. She has no right to exist… especially after what she did to you.” The preacher’s voice had become more strained and his eyes were shifting back and forth, as if he was unsure of his answer. Thenin’s face darkened as he looked down at his desk.
“What she did to me…” Thenin whispered to himself. The preacher might have heard it but if he did he didn’t respond, in fact he left Thenin alone for the rest of the class.
