Thenin was sitting in Lanya’s cell later the same day; she had tried comforting him repeatedly, but to no avail. Thenin realized she was doing this, but he didn’t want to be comforted, he wanted to mourn her. As Thenin stared at the bars of her cell, he experimented with the trick she had shown him, concentrating his energy into a ball, and focusing it into his hand. He had slowly been working his way up, at first with smaller amounts of energy so that if he lost control and it exploded like before he would not be harmed. Then he slowly moved up to where he was now, larger than his original ball it was now about the size of his head and, as he knew, if it blew up it had the potential to kill him. Thenin found that he need not worry about that though as he could control a ball even larger than this, but by creating such a ball he would be knocked unconscious from the energy drain.
Lanya had also been teaching Thenin the use of such balls, small ones could be used for light or precision work, and the larger ones had a much larger destructive force, in fact the one that Thenin was toying with right now could be used to punch right through solid stone. Thenin had proved this when he had been waving it around and accidentally disintegrated an amount of the wall, not all the way through but it nonetheless had a nice sized gash in it. The force that Thenin had used when attacking the bars before was the same thing except that his energy had formed a glove around his hand instead of a ball in his palm. Lanya had not told Thenin this but his energy that he accumulated so easily, she could not even hope to accumulate over hours of concentration; but what frightened Lanya the most was that she knew that his energy levels would continue to grow as long as he was a human.
