“I don’t get it, what’s so important about this stupid form anyways?” Nathan asked.
“ I dunno, but Mr. Liu sounded pretty tense when he said to get it signed.” Kevin said.
“Well that’s true. Kushion said.
Hardly anybody knew Kushion’s real name but everyone just thought it was Kushion.
Even the teachers call him Kushion. He didn’t really care that much but sometimes we would call him Bob.
Mr. Liu stepped out of the door. He was wearing an extra fancy tux today. It looked weird, but we all knew he meant business. He only wears that on special occasions.
“Good morning class,” Mr. Liu said, “I’m sure you all have your forms today?”
We all nodded except for one.
“ YES MR. LIU !” Justin shouted out.
He was the only one who replied to the question.
Justin was a weird kid. He’s the only one that stands out. Sticks outs like a pin on a cushion. See? Weird kid.
We all gave Mr. Liu our forms. Surprisingly, most of us actually brought back our forms. Some people didn’t so, they called their parents and asked. This HAD to be important.
We all boarded the bus in a messy line. No one really mind because we were already 20 minutes late. When we got inside the bus, the inside was HUGE. The outside was your typical yellow school bus. The bus read, “School for ‘Special Students’”.
“So we are stupid?” Destiny asked. “ The bus for ‘Special Students’?”
“Sounds like a school for the stupid.” Amy said.
“Maybe this Mr. Liu is from a different world than ours,” Jillian said, “And stupid is smart and smart is stupid….”
We all looked at Jillian like she was crazy.
“What?” Jillian said, “It could happen….”
The inside of that bus was luxurious ! It had seatbelts, leather seats, a little compartment at the top so we can put our bags on, and most importantly, space…..
“Oh my god….” Jane said.
“This is so AWESOME !” Amy said.
“This doesn’t look like a school bus to me.” Destiny said
I don’t know about you guys,” Jillian said. “But I call window seat !”
We all took a seat on the luxurious school bus. We all couldn’t believe that this was a school bus.
“This is better than my car !” Nathan said.
When we all settled down, the bus started moving. We were all excited to see what the emergency trip was all about.
“If this is the bus,” Kuira said, “The trip is gonna be so greezy.”
“I know !” Natasha said.
After about half an hour we stopped at a big building. It was about 30 stories high and had a red carpet laid out. There was a big sign that said, “Welcome new students !”.
“New Students?” Jillian asked.
“What does that supposed to mean?” Destiny asked.
“ I have no idea.” Jane said.
A man with a dark blue tux came out of the large building.
“Welcome everyone to the Academy for the Abnormally Gifted.” The man said,
“Otherwise known as AAG. My name is Dean Burns. I’ll be helping you during the year.”
“OKAY I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS!” Destiny yelled. “WHY ARE WE HERE ALREADY?! NO ONE HAS ANSWERED MY QUESTION THIS WHOLE TIME! I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT!!!!”
“Destiny,” Jillian said, “No one answered your question because you never asked that question.”
“Oh whatever,” Destiny said, “I just want to know what this is all about right now.”
“All your questions will be answered.” Dean Burns said, “ First come into the Main Lounge.”
Well all followed Dean Burns into the building. In the Main Lounge there was a colorful place where you could get drinks and chat with everyone. There was couches and bean bags everywhere in a nice comfy environment. We all took a seat.
“Okay the reason you’re here is because you really do have super powers.” Dean Burns said, “We’ve tested the whole province and you are the ones who tested positive for these gifts. Today we will be testing you on what powers you have.”
“Dang,” Kevin said, “He was serious?”
“If you will all go with one of the assistants of the academy we can get started.” Dean Burns said. “You will be tested in groups of 5 since we have limited assistants. The first group Amy, Jane, Destiny, Jillian, and Nathan. Second group, uhm, ‘Kushion’, Natasha, Kuira, Kevin, and Justin."
The list went on. So we finally went into a room with one of the assistants.
“Hi I’m Sue, I’ll be helping you find our powers today. Please, have a seat everyone.”
We all sat down on a comfy chair that moved like one of the ones you see when you go to the dentist.
“Now I’m going to attach these little circles on you so I can test you brain movements.”
“Wow this is insane,” Jane said, “Are you sure this isn’t a dream?”
“Positive.” Sue said.
Jane pinched herself to see if it was true. It was.
