.__personality Whimsical at best. Kaede likes to take it easy, though he can be uptight sometimes. He's very centred on what he wants to do, to the point of being flabbergasted if someone changes it suddenly. He's generally a sweet guy, with a fun personality and relatively quick wit. He's a softy when it comes to certain things, but only when appropriate. Though this is dependant on his relationship with the person in question. He's thoughtful and keeps his friends close, to the point where he finds it easy to talk about certain topics with them. All in all, he gives people chances and is nice to them, but one wrong move and he won't be so nice anymore.
.__Appearance Kaede is the type to be mistaken for something he is not. His sense of dress and his slightly curved body make him seem to be a woman to people who do not know him. His hair is an off-black colour, in a straight style. It reaches to the top of his waist at the back, the clumps framing his face are slightly shorter and his bangs are swept back away from his eyes and to his ears. His eyes are a honey-brown colour and generally full of a warmth of character. His cheek tattoo is his most unusual feature.

.__history Kaede was born the youngest in a small family. He was born two years after his sister, Megumi. His grades at school were average to slightly above and he was a child who was happy with life and always inquisitive. While alive his preference ranged more towards the male side, due to how females thought of him as a friend more then anything, relationships never really bothered him while alive, he was working to go to University.
His family moved from Tokyo to Nagano in 2007, due to a company transfer in his father's company. His father and mother were on the verge of divorce when Kaede met Keisuke. He was showing early signs of depression, but quickly kicked it aside when his new school life set in. He settled quickly with Keisuke's help, though at the end of their first year in Nagano his parents divorced. Kaede, having become unusually attached to Keisuke, refused to move back to Tokyo with his mother and sister and stayed in Nagano with his father.
After Three months of not seeing his mother and sister he decided to take a trip home. The train he and Keisuke boarded derailed just outside of Tokyo. Kaede was one of the few people in the first couple of carriages that was killed.
.__family life His relationship with his biological family was a good one. Kaede was well behaved and barely quibbled with his older sister and got on well with both his mother and his father.

She's nice. Though...she feels completely familiar.
Scary. She's pretty scary, though I like her strong will.
She's like an annoying little, money-hogging sister. Though she's nice, I suppose. Though I am not her bank! Dx!!
I don't really know her enough to formulate a proper opinion.

THE BASICS
» zanpakuto name: Ametsuki 雨月 [ Moon Rain ]
» sealed appearance: A normal Katana at 65cm long (including hilt length), with light pink ribbon around the hilt and a gold-coloured square guard. The sheath is pink as well.
THE SHIKAI Command is "Arashi" (あらし) which means Storm.
» appearance: The blade elongates to around 89cm long, two curved spikes split from halfway up the sword, pointing up like prongs. The hilt is pink and the blades take on an cloudy iridescent look, the sharp side of the blade being the only part that stays metallic-looking.
» abilities: With each strike the sword takes an electrical charge is stored in the blade, when both blades are full (as in, the inner part of the blade is sparking electricity continuously. Since the blade is iridescent it's easily seen.) Kaede can either use them as a projectile weapon or stab the blades into the ground, creating fissures around his opponents feet, where the storm of lightning and electric will rise and envelope them much like ropes, shocking them. Though the lightning isn't tangible, so they won't restrain.
THE SPIRIT
» appearance: Ametsuki takes the form of a tall woman with pale skin. Her hair is long and black, trailing onto the floor with straight cut bangs that rest just above her eyes. Her eyes are pitch black. She wears a black kimono with red and pink sakura designs on it, the Obi pink and long enough to just reach the floor. She wears the kimono off her shoulders. Butterfly wings sprout from her back, the designs swirling and coloured pink, black and red, the wings about as large as she is tall, though they are static, appearing to be just decoration. She doesn't wear footwear and rarely shows anything but an indifferent expression.
» personality: Distant. When she appears it's always at a distance from Kaede. She never faces him full on, and her tone is bland. She can anger, though slowly. She'll give Kaede advice when he needs it, but mostly cryptically when outside of a fight. She's protective of him, but doesn't expression or show it very much.

P r o m p tSo you're just there, wandering around the streets of Rukongai with your so-called 'family', just minding your own business when suddenly, there's a shout from some ways in front of you, a crowd forming, some more shouting and curses and you see a kid emerge from in between the people, running with a couple of apples in hand. It had been a while, he was sure of that much. It was lovely just to take a break and wander around Rukongai, to look at what was being sold, talk to his family and the locals and watch the general buzz of the town. A smile tugged at his lips as he passed a bunch of kids huddled together near an alleyway, obviously conversing on some game of sorts. Children, he loved how carefree they could be. The day was mindlessly uneventful and it soothed his senses, easing him into a lull of relaxation. So it took him a while to notice the people running past him to a forming crowd a little ways down the narrow street. He stopped and observed the bunch with brown eyes full of curiosity.
"Theif! Stop him!"
Kaede slowly pulled out of his relaxed state of mind and watched a young child break free of the crowd and sprint towards him. It was obvious by his appearance that he had stolen to survive. His heartstrings tugged and he knelt down, catching the child by the collar. "Now, Now young one." He said in a soothing voice, wrapping an arm around his waist to keep the struggling child in place. It was best that this was dealt with in a civil manner, sometimes people had short fuses when it came to the neighborhood children stealing things. He was sure this child had been with the group he had passed by earlier too.
He observed the child. He was no older then seven if he judged by appearance and his capture had brought him to tears, fat moisture rolling down his grubby cheeks from green eyes. Kaede felt the tugging at his heartstrings again as the stall owner stormed over, ranting and raving. He stood up, carrying the child in his arms. He let the child cling to him, the apples still held in a tight grip in his hands. There was silence all around, save for the sobs and sniveling the child was helplessly emitting. People had stopped to watch the exchange.
"How much?" Kaede asked, amused that the stall owner looked shocked at his voice. He had probably been thinking that Kaede was a woman. He was used to it. The stall owner grumbled out a price and the soul reaper reached into his obi and pulled out a small coin bag, taking the needed amount out. "Here, now leave this child alone." He said in a bright voice, turning on his heel and walking in the opposite direction from which he had been headed. He peeked to the side when the child sat up and stared at him through tear-blurred eyes. "T-Thank you." Came the watery gratitude and Kaede smiled, setting the child on his feet. "Just make sure you stay away from him, I won't help again if he gets you." He said in a stern voice, a hand reaching out to ruffle the young boy's unruly hair. He stood back and watched him run down the road and through the crowd. He didn't even know why he had helped in the first place.
"Well, so much for a day of no worries." Kaede murmured to himself, dusting his kimono off. The child had not been the cleanliest thing he had ever touched. That was definitely the last time he let a child silently make him feel sorry for him. Definitely.
