Chapter 6: Revelation: part 1









“Here it is,” said Matt as he went into a room, “the guest room”.

Roy had also entered the room, he quickly threw his bag on the bed and threw himself on it, “Please say the food can get here on its own.”

“Nope, we’re gonna have to go downstairs and eat”.

“Man, this bed feels SO good, I can’t stand up.”

“Hehe, well I know one thing that’ll get you up.” Matt grabs a nearby pillow and chucks it across the room and hits Roy square in the face.

“YOU b*****d!” cried Roy as he grabbed another pillow and throws it at Matt who dodges it and catches it in the air.

“Can’t hit me!” he throws it again at Roy who again gets hit but in the chest “I’m an archer for crying out loud, I have 20/20 vision!”

“We’ll see…” Roy said as he threw the pillow and missed Matt again but hit something else…

“Who…threw…the…pillow?”

It was Yuki, she had JUST come inside the room and got hit in the face.

Matt looked to the right while Roy rolled his eyes and pretended he didn’t see her, this made her even madder.

“Dinner…is ready.” she said after a while then slammed the door behind her. Matt and Roy simply rolled with laughter as they finished cleaning up and opened the door to go downstairs. As they stepped outside they both slipped and fell down the hallway and down the stairs, it was covered in ice and Yuki was laughing as she entered the dining room.

Bruises on their heads, Matt and Roy also entered the room and sat in the nearest chairs they could find, but still as far away from Yuki as humanly possible. Korimaru still hadn’t arrived in the room.

“Where’s Master?” asked Matt as he looked around the room but still avoided Yuki’s eyes.

“I don’t know,” said Yuki “he was here when I went to get you…”

“Maybe something important happened?” suggested Roy

“Maybe.” said Matt as he reached out for a chicken leg that was on the table.

“MATT!” yelled Yuki.

“WHAT!? I haven’t eaten anything all day!!! I’m STARVED!”

She glared at Matt and he quickly let go of the chicken leg “Fine, if he isn’t here in half an hour I’m starting.” he said stiffly as he looked at the chicken leg which seemed to call his name.

“Well…I think we can use this time to get to know ourselves better,” said Yuki as she looked at Roy, “what’s your name?”

“Huh? Oh, my name’s Roy, Roy Crider”

“Mine’s Yuki, the beautiful ice apprentice, nice to meet you”

Matt almost choked on his drink.

“Got something to add!?” she hissed as Matt hid himself behind the cup he was drinking.

“No, I’m fine, it’s just the beautiful part is just…”

Yuki continued to glare.

“Like I said, nothing!” He concluded as he hid behind his cup again.

“Umm…not to be butting in, but are you two…related?” Asked Roy as Matt spat out whatever the hell he was drinking and Yuki simply laughed.

“RELATED TO THAT WITCH!?” yelled Matt, “Not even close!”

“Please, if I was related to him, I wouldn’t look as beautiful or be as smart…don’t you think?”

“EXACTLY………………………………………HEY!” yelled Matt as Roy and Yuki began to laugh.

“We’re KINDA like siblings, just not related, I was brought in and raised by Master Korimaru.” said Matt as they settled down, “A couple years back, when the clan wars ended, many towns were destroyed and left in ruin. Countless people remained homeless, I was fortunate enough to be found by Korimaru Sensei when my parents never returned to pick me up from the shelter; I was 3 at the time”

“Matt, I’m sorry.” said Roy as he looked at Matt who returned a smile.

“Don’t worry, what’s happened already happened!” smiled Matt as he reached for his chicken leg but was stopped by Yuki's ice magic.

“Don’t think softening up the atmosphere can get you the chicken,” she said as she dispelled the ice magic which stopped Matt’s hand.

“It was worth a try,” said Matt sadly as he continued to look at it hungrily.

“What about you Yuki?” asked Roy. “How did YOU get here?”

“Oh, I live here, Korimaru’s my father!” she said happily as Roy looked surprised.

“What?”

“Nothing, that’s cool.” said Roy No wonder Matt’s frightened of her he said to himself.

“What about you Roy?” asked Yuki, “What are you doing here? Are you going to be joining our dojo?”

“Er…not really. Quite frankly, I don’t even know why I’m even here.” said Roy as he looked at Matt.

Matt knew the jig was up, he had to tell Roy everything, he placed the cup down and lowered his voice, “Alright, can’t lie to you Roy, but I’m only going to tell you what I know so there’s going to be some things unanswered for the time being.”

Roy nodded, finally, the moment he had been waiting for! Yuki however looked at Matt then back at Roy, “What’s going on guys?”

“Ok, it all started a week before I went and got you.” started Matt completely ignoring Yuki, “I was on a journey around Celine for one year, master gives his students this final test when they reach 15...as a symbol of learning everything they have to know from him, long story short, I receive a message from master by Ollie.”

“Ollie?” Roy said confused.

“Messenger eagle,” said Yuki as she looked at her cup and began swirling the liquid inside with her finger, “We only use it for emergency’s, but why wasn’t I told of this!?” said Yuki infuriated.

“When the Ollie arrived I didn’t know what to expect, I opened the letter and to my surprise, it contained only 5 words! It said, ‘Come to my dojo, NOW!’”

“How oddly specific…” said Roy.

“Yeah…” Matt concurred,”I obvious came in a hurry and to my surprise saw master in a state of anxiety…which is really rare…he’s usually a calm person…”


~ 1 day before the incident in Brone ~





“Huff…puff…” gasped Matt as he entered the dojo out of breath, “ I…I, came as soon as the Ollie arrived Sensei…”

Korimaru said nothing as he looked towards the wall where the Time Blade shone brightly “It is time…”

“Time?” asked Matt as he continued to stare at his master in great confusion.

“Yes…I have another mission for you Matthew.”

“Mission? But, I’m still finishing my final test, isn’t this-“

“No Matthew, with this mission, you finish your test.”

Matt stood up as straight as he could when he heard the news, “What’d I have to do?”

He turned around and took his eyes off the Time Blade for the first time in the whole conversation, “I want you to go to the city of Brone.”

“Brone…”

“There you will find a boy with red hair in a school called Oliver High, get him and bring him to me…UNHARMED, do you understand!?”

“Yes sensei!”



“I never questioned my master once, not even at that time, but there was a flaw in my master’s plan.

“What?” asked Roy as he got more and more interested as the story went on.

“The travel.” sighed Matt as he started rocking on his chair. “I knew the city master was speaking of was located in another world, and our laws claim that we need a permit to cross.”

“So, you got one that same night?”

“HA! Permission usually takes MONTHS to reach the head of the Government, IF we’re lucky…”

“Damn…” sighed Roy

“But the goddess was with me that night...”


~ 1 day before the incident in Brone, inside the Runaway Pub: Shahel ~


“OY, Marian!”

“Matthew?” said a woman who worked in the pub, she had long curly red hair and had trays in her hands, “Long time no see, love!”

“It’s Matt,” he muttered under his breath as he gave a weak smile and sat down in the nearest chair, Marian then came by to the table and placed a mug with a purple liquid inside. Matt began drinking mouthfuls of it as Marian sat down beside him.

“How’d your test go?” she asked.

Matt finished his drink and placed the mug down “Still haven’t finished, have to do one more thing before I pass…”

“Well Matthew, I hope whatever it is you have to do comes out for the best, love.” She stood up and grabbed Matt’s mug, “I’m rooting for you.” with that she headed towards the kitchen and Matt was alone in the table.

“Easy for her to say, I have to LEGALLY cross worlds without the government noticing, BY TODAY! What a hassle.” groaned Matt as he looked out the window and watched tiny droplets fall from the leaves outside. He closed his eyes and placed his head on the table, absorbing all the noises in the pub.

“-So we capture this guy in Brone you see,”

Matt opened his eyes but remained motionless as he eavesdropped on the conversation that was taking place behind him.

“But, 1,000,000 Shards!? This has to be a joke the government pulled on all us guards!”

“I dunno Phil…it sounds pretty real to me…”

“When do we leave Bob?”

“Tonight, and we capture this so called traitor Sylvan tomorrow…”

The one called Phil began to crackle “I can’t wait…what time is it?”

The one called Bob took out his pocket watch with a symbol of a dragon on it “Half past 7, we leave with master Konfyusha in an hour.”

“We’ll I’ll see you at Half Turns Point in an hour, I’ll have your equipment ready by then.”

Bob raised his drink and continued drinking as Phil stood up and left the pub. Bob did not stand up, he stayed seated for about 10 minutes and then the alcohol finally took its effect on him.

Standing up dizzily, Bob headed towards the door and was closely followed by Matt who cunningly watched his distance from Bob. After what seemed like a 5 minute walk, Bob took a left turn out of the city of Shahel and into a route that led to a great mountain which was obvious enough to Matt, Half Turns Point. Not taking any chances, Matt acted.

“Hazy Mist!”


Heavy mist began descending upon Bob who franticly began looking left and right, and drew his sword.

“OY! WHAT THE ******** IS THIS, EH? ONE MINUTE I’M WALKIN’ TO THE BOSS…NEXT THIS SHITTY MIST OVERCOMES THE AREA…s**t…”

Suddenly, Matt appears behind Bob like a ninja and knocks him out with a log from a nearby tree.

“Sorry Bob,” said Matt with an evil smile, “gonna need to borrow your garment for a while.”
