The official visiting hours for the Fenthry Preservation Society is now 5 pm - 7 pm EST (2 pm - 4 pm Gaia time) daily. If you want to interact with Fenthry and their owners, please try to come during that time.
Owners may also PM the Fenthry account to announce a time they would like to come in and host an RP in the shop. Any scheduled RP will be listed here.
(you can still come in and RP any time, this is just a way to help people get together and RP at the same time, since a lot of times the shop is empty)
Hello, and welcome to the Gaian Fenthry Preservation Society headquarters! Well, really it's just a little shop.. But we hope to expand in the future! The shop now has two employees! The first is me, Louhi.
And I'd like you to meet my new assisstant, D-chan Spiro! She will be helping with sales and such. Please pay her the utmost of respect!

Now I'm going to tell you the story of the Fenthry.
You've probably never heard of a Fenthry before, so I'm sure you're skeptical, but trust me- this is all true. I only happened to know their story because my grandmother (who was also named Louhi) had a very special book that she shared with me when I was younger. It was a kind of bestiary, a catalogue of curious creatures, but there was one in particular that always fascinated me. The beautiful Fenthry, as the book explained, were a species that existed way back when human civilisation was still young and naive. Of course magic was everywhere back then. Among the Fenthry were a number of different subspecies, one of which had dark tendencies and was dedicated to disrupting and destroying humans. This rogue faction of Fenthry started a war amongst their kind, in the hopes of uniting the Fenthry against humanity. Unfortunately, and rather ironically, that war led to the extinction of the Fenthry (or so it was thought). The book explained how humans would look for the special feathers that are the Fenthry's dormant children, and lavish their care and attention on the feather. The Fenthry, being rather small and fragile in the early part of their lives, would reward their gaurdian's protection most generously when they finally matured. Just what kind of reward, the authors of the book didn't reveal. Possibly they didn't know, as the book must have been written quite a long time after the last Fenthry had vanished. They did explain with great detail, though, how to tell the difference between a dormant Fenthry infant and an ordinary feather... but this is a secret that I am not ready to divulge publicly just yet.
It was mostly by chance that I happened to be at the estate sale of a certain evil sorceress (an old acqaintance of my grandmother) with a taste for elaborate hats. As I was browsing through her collection, I discovered several very interesting specimens.. as I examined the gaudy feathers adorning these hats, enjoying the sensation of their silky softness running through my fingers, the pages of that mysterious old book sprang vividly into my mind. These were no ordinary feathers, I was holding in my hands a collection immature Fenthry! I know a bit about the kind of magic this sorceress used, and I'm sure the nasty old witch must have placed one of her spells on the Fenthry suspend them in the form of feathers, just so she could decorate her hats, the selfish hag! Of course no one else realized the true nature of these hats, so I was able to buy them for quite a low price. Once the spells are removed, the little Fenthry only need the love and encouragement of a human guardian to coax them into their mature forms.
It takes time to unbind each feather from it's stasis, but as soon as they're ready, I move them into the display case so that they can be viewed by prospective owners. The feathers seem to call to the person who is right for them.
