Q. Who are you people?
A. The Healers and Herbalist's Guild (HHG) was founded by Nemone on July 24, 2005. Our staff here in the guild is our captain, Nemone, and the crew, Vanya Cellest and Kyoki Marie.
Q. Why am I here?
A. Probably because you saw us in someone's sig and were interested in learning about natural healing. Either that, or you were invited because you mentioned an interest or were active in the HHG Thread in the Interest Based Guilds section of the main forums.
Q. So what do we do here?
A. Our mission statement at the HHG is simple:
To have a free open place for the discussion of herbal and other alternative healing techniques, and to give those curious about this topic a free, unbiased, and open forum for the discussion and learning of them.
That means that we talk about all sorts of alternative healing, including but not limited to herbalism, naturopathy, and homeopathy. Discussion and differing veiwpoints are encouraged- however, heated debate is not. Check
the rules on the homepage for details.
Q. I have a problem. Can you fix it?
A. First, check out this disclaimer:
WE ARE NOT DOCTORS. Most members of this guild and thread are NOT medical professionals. In any situation, when in doubt, CALL YOUR DOCTOR. In case of an emergency, do not post here- get offline, pick up your phone and call your doctor or your local EMS and 911 service. Always check with your doctor before attempting any self-treatment, and do not self-treat if you are pregnant or have existing medical conditions. Herbal medication is still medication, and may interact with other medications, both prescription and over-the-counter. Any advice given here is strictly for educational purposes and should be discussed with your doctor before attempting self-treatment.
In short: We're amateurs. Consult your doctor before you do anything!!!

Q. I have _______________ problems. What should I do?
A. We're working on compiling a list of common ailments and their safest treatments. Until then, please post a thread in the main guild- but also please check to see if there's already a thread about it! Check the list in progress in the third post for links to threads about various issues we've dealt with already.
